this game is adorable and so much fun! as simple as it is, it's extremely enjoyable :3 <3 definitely recommend if you like grinding in games or just chilling ^__^

Coral Island is a beautiful, story-driven farming simulator that tells a story about the world and the island you inhabit; about how climate change and greedy corporations have ruined a once beautiful area.

The Good:
I have been a cozy farming sim enjoyer since Harvest Moon was a good series (rip you will be missed), and this game definitely hits the mark for me. The NPCs, the story, the art -- they're all wonderful. It has quickly become one of my favourite farming games.
There are so many interesting features to enjoy. I love how many different skills, tools and objectives there are, it feels like it filled the gaps of what I wanted out of ACNH and Stardew in terms of things to do.
The festivals especially feel more fun to me, the minigames are challenging for me, but not too challenging to deter me from trying completely. . As of posting this, I have almost 50 hours and I'm still having quite a bit of fun.

The Bad:
Unfortunately, as much as I love this game, some major things need to be fixed.
The bugs in this game are plentiful, even on the day I'm posting this I've experienced bugs such as invisible insects and getting stuck on moving objects/walls.
This game being released as a full game feels like a stretch, the game is far from finished and as much as I love it I firmly believe it should have stayed early access until the next big update comes out - there are SO many things that we don't have access to yet, like the puzzles in the reef, there are quite a few but they don't do anything yet, so why are they there? or the Merfolk Kingdom being unfinished, despite the player having access to it and a MSQ taking place in the area .
Pets don't do anything, they simply stand in your house all day. Even in Stardew they at least walk around the farm.
The clothing is nice, but there are a lot of weird features like longer hair being completely gone when you put on a hat, just why? It makes no sense.


Overall opinion?
It is a beautiful game, and the Devs are clearly working hard, but I would really recommend waiting until the game is fully finished to purchase and play it. It's fun overall but the lack of content when you near the end of the "finished" content is frustrating and can be demotivating.

only play this game if you like bad balancing, poor matchmaking, and a company that fails to deliver promised content. otherwise, steer clear. it is fun at first, but as soon as you play the game for more than a few hours, you realize how awful it is. please spare your sanity if you have not yet played this game, and find another game to play.
