2 November 2016
Rough Draft HoD Paper
In a Heart of Darkness Joseph Conrad has many questionable statements towards the african americans. This put Conrad’s book in a state of debate on whether what he was describing was racist or not. Achebe’s perception of Heart of Darkness is correct because the book contains very vivid imagery and detail of racist ideas and the story maintains the damaging stereotyping of native people by By painting africans as bestialised, barbaric, primitive and uncivilised beings.
