The driving experience in this game? amazing, this and iracing are the 2 best racing sims no question.

every other aspect of the game? horrendous. the UI must have been designed to be as useless and annoying as possible, it can not possibly have been by accident.

there's a VR mode in the launch options of this game, which until you're driving a car shows you a 2d panel of the main menu, you CANT use VR controllers at all, which means when you launch the game and it FORCES you to create a driver name, you have to peek out of your VR headset and use a physical keyboard to enter the text, so hopefully you had one nearby, and hopefully you can see out of your headset easily, otherwise good luck.

now after you've done that you get into the actual menu for the game, at first it looks decent, modern panels with most of the modes you'd want to drive. lets say you want to set up a fun race session with friends. great! go over to the multiplayer tab and.... no way to host a session at all? interesting, the game is on steam, and steam has multiplayer server and session abilities on it, so why not press a button to setup a lobby and just invite people through steam? why make people run the dedicated server software. (which by the way you need a 3rd party tool to be able to use) well anyway now that you've exited the game (for probably the 3rd time) now you have the dedicated server running on your computer, and you can go back into the game and join your session right? well probably not. you need to enable NAT loopback so that you can connect TO YOUR OWN SERVER. an option which many people using ISP provided modem/routers wont have access to easily.

its interesting that a racing game can be so well made for the actual racing part, but be so bad in every other aspect. do the devs live under a rock and think their UI and everything is totally fine? it was very clear with the original Asseto Corsa that the UI was actually unusable. there's a 3rd party app with as many downloads as the game that controls the UI and everything itself. at least this time they actually have a menu system in the game so you can theoretically use it by itself, but only if you're happy playing on other peoples servers or singleplayer.

for gods sake devs, just use steam multiplayer integration and let people setup their own session IN GAME. i gave up trying to setup a session and bought someone else an iracing subscription just to play with them. is that really the experience you want for this amazing racing game?

Worst excuse for a game i've ever seen become popular. the physics are horrendous, the performance is awful, the game looks like it came out in 08, the lag is horrible, the loot system is horrible, winning late game takes 50% luck so you dont have to run across an open field with no cover because the circle drags you out of the trees.

Devs should never try to make a game again after this.

This game is hilarious and a ton of fun, I rarely ever play games by myself, but I find myself playing this randomly a lot throught the day. There are a few little things they could improve, but overall this game is awesome.
