It's an isometric turn-based RPG, which, in my opinion, greatly reduces the number of players. Not everyone likes such decisions, but Larian Studios managed to create a game that will appeal even to opponents of this genre.
This game takes a lot of time, and not only because of the size of the world, although it is also quite large, but also because of the great variability. Almost every task, even the simplest one, has at least 2 options, and that's not taking into account that depending on the race/class/characteristics, the number of these options will increase.
What is one of the most important components of party RPGs? Of course, companions!
There are quite a few of them, each with their own story/character/tasks. You won't even be able to run with all of them in 1 playthrough, since everyone has their own perception of the world and events in it, and some of them, at first glance, are not obviously potential allies. (Some characters may even change throughout the journey, depending on your decisions, both externally and internally). Each of the characters has a large, interesting, sometimes confusing storyline that stretches throughout the game. There will be no such thing that you did 1 quest, got the maximum ratio and that's it, the rest of the game, regardless of your actions, he runs after you like a dog.
They will react to all your decisions, and their attitude towards the protagonist will change throughout the game.
At the moment, I can't remember a game where companions are so well realized.
