I can't recommend this game. I'm less than 10 minutes in and had to refund because this is not the type of quality that is worth 20 dollars in my opinion. You can tell they started off making it as a 1 to 1 stardew valley copy, and those are the areas where it shines through. But the whole game is just substandard. The game is riddled with technical issues, like not being aligned to the pixel grid and having floating point errors. The game tries hard to have a soul, but fails miserably. I felt scammed while I played this game. Stardew valley is 50% cheaper than this. Even if I completed SDV already, I would rather spend my time mastering it than playing this game.

Also the fact that the devs made a survivors game and like 200 dollars worth of DLC makes me wonder about their integrity, especially considering the quality of the base game.

They lock a lot of stuff to DLC, even MODDING is locked to Afterbirth+ which I think is kinda weird but I guess it's just a way to make people pay more money. I'd almost say you're better off pirating the game but obviously you shouldn't do that. DLC are suppost to add small extras to a game. That's not the case for the binding of isaac rebirth. The DLC IS the game. Besides that it could probably be a fun game. It's really difficult to understand what different items do because theres no real description before you pick something up. I get how they might think it adds a learning curve but it just doesn't work with the items they have. For example theres extremely bad items that you will just pick up thinking they will upgrade you but instead it just makes the game a burden to play. Oh, you can get item descriptions, but you guessed it, you need a mod so prepare to whip out another 30 dollars. I like the idea, the art style and the story is unique, but if you buy it understand that the base game lacks A LOT and expect to pay around 50 dollars for the complete experience.
