I wanted to wait a bit before posting my review for this game to see if the game would draw me back. It did not. Just for preface. I played through the entire campaign on the Regular difficulty. I did not play Operations game mode, but I did play a bit of the Online PvP.

Pros:
- The visuals are amazing
- Accuracy to Lore was basically on point
- Respect to franchise
- Variety in Location in Campaign

Pro/Con:
- Story was straight forward, but interesting enough of a narrative

Cons:
- Combat is uninteresting
- Melee weapons especially felt like hitting something with a wet noodle
- Combat is basically just fighting in the open. No modern cover mechanics or anything like leaning for example.
- For a horde game there really isn't any CC management? I mean explicitly that you don't do much besides try to wipe out as many enemies as possible.

As a purely cinematic experience this game is fine for that. You got your Cameos from Warhammer 40k. Enemy and Ally models are really well done. The game play just isn't there at least for me. If you are ok with the gameplay being weak I'd still just recommend watching the clips on youtube if you care about the story only. I recommend Darktide over this game if you want a Horde shooter in the 40k universe.

Early Access Review
I think this game is worth giving a try. Honestly feel conflicted though. The quests are interesting so far. The tutorial was long, but introduced the games mechanics well enough. The gameplay is very similar to something like Runescape. Has some idle mechanics, specifically referring to the completely passive ways to level up professions without being logged in (despite the xp being rather abysmal).

What's going to hurt this game though is that the cross progression between episodes is unclear. Basically when you get to episode 2 you get a new set of professions that you can do and are basically locked to that region. This includes your combat profession (Which is why people have been claiming this is a reset. It isn't really a reset since you can go back to episode 1 and your guard profession is the same as you left it). The progression seems to be about getting additional mechanics and/or resources from other episodes and using them on professions that help all episodes like Alchemy.

So why am I recommending it? I think it's worth a try if you like similar games. I would like to see a roadmap and a couple of updates to see how drastically this game can change/how much they are listening to feedback. I would argue that is more important than the current state of the game. Especially since it's only early access.

It's a good game, but I can no longer recommend (unless you only care about single player). Two things:

- Campaign DLCs used to only be needed to be bought by the host. Many years after the game was released, they changed it so that everyone in the lobby needs the campaign DLC to play together (Obvious Cash Grab).
- The multiplayer aspect of the game has been left in a broken state with constant crashing at certain points throughout the game. There is a community patch that in my case let my lobby continue in the story, but it did not fully fix the crashing to the point that we stopped playing. Even if the community patch fixed this I would still leave this as not recommended, because the community should not need to fix this at all...

Adding to performance data

Performance: Depends

My Setup:
RTX 3070
Ryzen 5 5600X
16 GB Ram

Low Settings FPS

Vernworth/Towns: 35-45 FPS
Outskirts: 55-60 FPS

If you have a similar setup, are ok with running on low, and are ok with the above FPS then go ahead. To add to this, the FPS is stable meaning you won't suddenly drop to 17 FPS and shoot back up to 60 FPS. It is consistently low or high depending on what area you are in. This is nowhere near as bad as Cyberpunk was on launch for example...

MTX don't even matter. You can completely ignore them. I'm leaving this as a negative review until they optimize this game a bit, since most people won't be ok with the above. Let alone if they have the setup to run this game...

Thank you Hopoo for allowing us to change the application's sound settings before the game loads and blasts my ear drums to oblivion like in other games.

Solid game so far. About the closest a game has come to Terraria for me in terms of other similar games (Valheim, Starbound, etc). Multiplayer is also very stable for an Early Access.

Compared to the other DLC this one felt less polished and less fun due to the new enemies and mechanics added.

I think this is really fun game to play casually with friends. My only issue with this game so far is that the connection to the game can occassionally cause rubber banding.

To be honest its not as bad as people made be. I didnt find the end game as enjoyable as Borderlands 2, but up until that its enjoyeable to the end. The only other problem I have with this is that there are too many summoning abilities. More ability variety should be a focus in the next game. I just feel like they handled classes better in the previous game. Double jump is a great feature, but unlikely to be in future games or rather not like it is in this game.
