finally found baldur and his gate

Got my platinum, 130 hours in playing laxly.

I love the game but I expected more tbh. Base endgame rn is quite barren even compared to base World. Grinding is so """streamlined""" that you'll be able to finish any build in 5 hunts at most, guaranteed gems on investigations is crazy. Even decos and artian weapons are a joke when you can just snipe duo investigations. Endgame is basically Arkveld simulator unless you like hunting the other Tier 3s simply because they're fun (which I do, but apparently not my friends since they quit p much after tempered Arkveld.). And what happened to tracking the monster??? We got a satellite up there or something?

The hunts themselves don't last long since the wound system trivializes most hunts by constantly staggering the monster, even if they're in the middle of a big attack. 10+ minutes hunt is RARE for me even against 5 star tempereds, except for Jin Dahaad. No reason to prep either beyond traps if you want to capture. And yeah, I already tried my best to make the game difficult by not wearing armor, not using my seikret, and all that extra shi.

LOL even trophy hunting is babyfied with how binoculars straight up tells you whether the monster is a crown or not, and the map alerts you if a rare artifact shows up.

But still, combat is too fun regardless of difficulty. Insect Glaive felt clunky at first, but after some getting used to, it's so much better than the braindead spam 2 moves glaive that was in World. Focus mode almost entirely removes the positioning skill required for combat, but I can't lie it's fun being able to just turn around not missing my hits. And landing an offset is pure cinema. Monsters are of much better variety than base World was as well. I'd say its ON YOU if you're just spamming Arkveld because you only hunt for the loot.

And ngl, story was lame at first but as it goes on, I'm starting to like it. I don't really care about the plot, but I mainly like how they treat our hunter. By my own order, glaze me more. The Guild feels like an actual entity this time around, I feel like I'm actually a part of it.

8/10 for now, TU waiting room.
