Developers wanted to make a WW1 Flying game. For some reason they made a space game instead. 10 out of 10 for style, but minus several millin for good thinking, eh?

Different than Castle Crashers and Rampage Knights. Just as good of a game. All three are great games that is to say. 2 thumbs up.

This game puts the "action" back into arpgs.

I will never understand the love this game gets.

I've only played 3 hours, but this game gives me twinges of Out of this World, Flashback, Super Metroid, a Boy & His blob, the cutscenes are straight up Wing commander or Ninja Gaiden and the music? The music is a perfect fit for the late 80s early 90s aesthetic the game is going for. Pretty much nailed everything! The ONLY negative I've found so far is the default CRT shader is a bit overpower with the bloom effect, but the subtle setting nails it. If you like side scroller action adventures, this game is for you.

Had this wishlisted forever, a friend gifted it to me thought it'd hop on and check it out. Spent 5 or 10 minutes getting graphics tested at different resolutions, DSR on nvidia seemed to work no problem. Then I started playing and I only stopped once, to turn on streaming so the guy who bought it could watch. Then I played for 4 hours in a row, just taking quick breaks to stretch my hands, cause I'm old. Made it to the last level and I'm just too tired to beat it, but when I wake up that level is my ♥♥♥♥♥ and New Game + is going to wish it was never born. Or it will wish I was never born, in which case I'm not going to fall asleep tonight. I might not wake up.

It's carmageddon. It runs as good on your pc now as the original ran on my 386. Which is to say not great. That doesn't change the fact that it's CARMA ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GEDDON. This feels exactly like the old games I spent days playing as a teenager. Do you like driving games? You probably won't like Carmageddon. Do you like CRASHING games? Then you'll love Carmageddon. For me a driving game should be about the things you can't do in real life. If I want to drive a car, I have been able to do that for over 20 years.

Update August 26th 2015. Stainless just released an optimization patch, and now the game runs incredibly smooth for me. So I feel confident recommending this game to anybody who meets the requirements, and loves crashing games, ie flatout, burnout, wreckfest, destruction derby, etc.
