Let me start this by saying I only played the single player, as Call of Duty's Multiplayer isn't the type of PvP that appeals to me.

I've played every Call of Duty campaign since the original back in 2003, and I'm inclined to say this is the worst one out of the bunch. The whole single player campaign appears to be an afterthought, hidden at the bottom of not one, but two menu sections and requiring a re-launch of the game to play. You don't have the option of launching the single player directly from Steam. You have to launch the Warzone version of the game, watch the introduction movie, and sit through the game optimizing shaders for about 15-20 minutes before you can start playing. All the while pushing its latest and greatest operator and gun skins in your face. You are also greeted with three pages of privacy policies, terms of services and some other agreement. Talk about breaking immersion.

The game itself looks good and performs well, but suffers from random crashes. During my campaign playthrough, the game froze three times, forcing me to go through the aforementioned process of getting back into the game. I didn't notice any loading screens though, and most of the campaign progress was seamless.

As for the story, it's alright. Having played the original Modern Warfare series it was a little disappointing to hear Ghost and Soap have different voice actors from before (Price too, but he was voiced by the same guy in the 2019 version). Soap is Scottish, but his voice actor isn't and you can tell. The campaign has some borrowed elements from Warzone, such as a crafting system and armoured enemies. Dumping full magazines into enemies never feels great, and the crafting system only half shines in one particular mission. I feel the game could've done without them.

One of the boss fights is extremely tedious and involves running around to grab an item to use four times before the boss is apparently dead. You don't really see him die or anything really, he's just radioed as "we got him" or something along those lines. There are more of these moments in the campaign where I got the feeling something significant was going on, but either it happened in the middle of a gunfight so I really wasn't paying attention to my surroundings, or the game's characters largely ignored it or gave it vague mention. There is a second boss fight, but not really so I won't really go into it because spoilers.

There also appeared to be more bugs in the campaign than normally. During one sequence, the player is instructed to drop a smoke grenade to see laser beams. I solved it without dropping a smoke, after which the NPCs never stopped instructing me to drop a smoke, Gaz. This triggered some weird interaction with hostile NPCs which made them refuse my stealth, even though I hadn't fired a shot. Took me a while to figure out, and had to reboot the game to fix it. In another case, the armoured enemies are best taken down with a knife. However, sometimes the player character just refused to use their knife even though the take down icon is there, and just proceeds to punch the armored man. This doesn't end well for the player character.

Oh and third, Ghost at one point insists "[either him or soap] should live to tell the tail". I ♥♥♥♥ you not. In a $70 multimillion dollar triple A blockbuster title. What a tail indeed.

Am I giving this game a hard time? Hell yeah I am. But this is the same franchise where missions opened with phrases like "Break's over, Roach. Let's go" and "Too much radiation, we'll have to go around". Call of Duty never was the strongest story game, but it's always had solid shooter mechanics, and the missions were memorable. It's set a very high standard for itself, and therefore I hold a reboot of the franchise to the same standards. The previous MW was good, and was a far more enjoyable single player experience than this iteration.

If you're in it for the single player like I am, pick it up when it's 20 bucks, or don't bother really. You get the same enjoyment out of watching the campaign on YouTube, without the frustration of having to endure crashes or enemies bugging out.

As a closing thought, when I opened the game I saw every logo of every studio that has ever worked on a Call of Duty, ever. I thought they were just name dropping, but as it turns out, a whopping total of NINE studios have worked on this game. How did do 9 studios manage to release such a buggy game? I wonder.

This game is great. You really get the relaxed experience of building a chili sauce empire from the comfort of your DXRacer™ Gaming Char while vehemently spamming the left mouse button on your Razer™ Deathadder™ Chroma™ mouse until its eventual demise.

You start off with your mom cooking sauce for you. Then you recruit everyone else's mom, and before you know it, you are bending space time and creating delicious sauce from antimatter. As Neil "Smoke" DeGrasse Tyson once said: "當我們設法將反物質變成辣椒醬時,人類整體上升到第五維度".

As a traditional Chinese game, there are gambling elements in this game as well. However, you are gambling with hot sauce instead of money, so the gambling authorities can let this one slide. Be careful when gambling with your hard-clicked sauce though; tests have proven that the wheel is decidedly not in your favour, and your odds aren't as high as they seem to be.

Overall 9/11 game, would buy for someone's birthday.

This game is a lot like that girl who's not the brightest, smokes a pack a day, and openly discusses her view on polygamy when at the dinner table with your parents. You hope she changes one day, but she never will. She's a lot of fun, but you just know there's no future in it. Well, minus the risk of STIs.

Bounced on my boy's ♥♥♥♥ for days to this one. I wasn't fully prepared for the vast amount of choice you have in this game, but then again, no one except G.W. Bush was prepared for Tower 7 to collapse either.

This game is easily one of the best puzzle games ever created, and in my opinion one of the best overall games ever created. Challenging puzzles, intricate storytelling combined with soothing landscapes and fantastic graphics made sure I both enjoyed the game, as well as getting a lot of food for thought from it. It approaches philosophy at an entirely new angle: through gameplay and character progression. I have played very few games which amazed me as much as the Talos principle did, and I am sure you will love it too.

CS:GO Review
10/10 bounced on my boys ♥♥♥♥ for days. wouldve been a better game if the glock wasnt shooting peas but i can live with the imbalance between the nova and the sawed off. ever since ive started playing ive contracted herpes, hiv and sixteen other types of disease three of which i only know the russian name of. i dont think this game would be good for kids since they would grow up with serious prejudices against russians which could impact their career at a macro-economic scale. overall this game is a high quality, very entertaining game with the occasional surprise when your shot that was aimed perfectly at the opponents head decides to land in the abyss. would recommend.

Without a shadow of a doubt one of the best games I have ever played. The game features some unique mechanics, which I've never seen in any other game and despite its short playthrough time manages to deliver a very immersive story.
