The original Adventure Jam 2023 version of this made my top ten jam games, and this is an excellent improvement especially with the addition of voice acting and cutscenes. We're assigned to a nuclear bunker in Siberia when of course things start to go wrong, and we have to fix everything before the nuclear missile is launched by mistake. Despite the gravity of the situation, the game also has a great sense of humor like having to feed caviar cat food to your superior officer, Stalin the cat, so they'll take care of the rats in the bunker. There's also a good and bad ending and multiple dialogue choices at the end when you wish on a shooting star. My wish was to leave a nice review of this game, so here I am!

Will edit this review later as only part way through the game, but wanted to say how utterly charming and brilliant it is and you should go play it now 💎

Even if you've played previous episodes of Tachyon Dreams, this anthology is the definitive version that includes extra content and feels like a complete cosmic saga! The good old text parser is put to excellent use here and encourages you to experiment to your heart's content :) Some of the puzzles are quite challenging and sometimes you need to type the exact command which can be frustrating but it's all part of the parser experience ;) Just like Blood Nova this game hints at some of the cosmic hijinx going on that makes the world feel more expansive, and there's definitely room for more Tachyon adventures but in any case check out all the other games that Cosmic Void has created, especially Blood Nova which for me is their masterpiece!

Was highly anticipating this after the first game and played it as soon as it was released! And I was not disappointed, in fact this is one case where I feel like the sequel is definitely better than the original. The game feels more expansive and there's more of Sheffield to explore and even fearsome opponents to fight like an angry climber or an old man and his dog. I'd highly recommend playing the first one to get the most out of it, and both games have alternate endings depending on the choices you make so there's plenty of Brownie's Adventure to experience! I'm hoping the dev will go on to make it a trilogy ;)

My friend recommended this to me saying it looked like "my kind of thing". Well he was right! On the surface this isn't the most good looking game, which is a nice way of saying it's a bit crap ;) But it's not meant to be the next blockbuster, it's a product of one man (with a beard who apparently likes rambling) that obviously has a great love for the adventure game genre and that shines through all that mess of pixels! Once I started on Brownie's Adventure I just couldn't stop playing, and it has an irreverent sense of humour that I found hilarious at times XD If you're put off by the graphics just give it a go and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, and if you like this then the sequel just came out...

This game stole my heart :D I found out about Flake from the developer, and initially thought it was going to be a cutesy adventure aimed more for kids. After playing it however I can say that it's much more than a kids game, and in fact the story and characters had much more depth than I expected. We play as Flake, a strange white creature who emerges from a crystal and doesn't know where we came from. We also don't know what we're made from exactly, and depending on our actions Flake gradually changes either into water or ice. There's a fantastic cast of characters to meet along the way, and plenty of puzzles to solve that feel organic to the environment, which is suitably snowy for the most part until we find our way to other times and places...But no spoilers here, go play this game and discover the Legend of Snowblind for yourself, it's a charming game that captures the spirit of classic point n click adventures!

Just made a video on this game for Xmas and had a holly, jolly good time with it! It's described as a dating sim but it's really a lighthearted and charming story of a bunch of Santas who all have their unique personalities and way of doing things. It's fun to replay with different Santas and see how you get on with them. Are you attracted by Sassy Santa's sass? Or moved by Sad Santa's perpetual sadness? Or are you totally infatuated with Sleep Santa's beard?! Whatever your preference, there's a Santa for everyone and you can never have too many ;)

Having previously played Watch Over Christmas from Dionous Games, which perfectly captures the spirit of the season, I was excited to play this latest offering, which perfectly captures the essence of dreams! It's a remake of the original Enypnion that adds extra content as well as revised script and interface. From the beginning it felt like it was aimed more towards a younger audience, but as it progresses it explores deeper themes that are more mature. Some of the puzzles are also quite tricky, and I admit getting quite stumped on a few of them! The heart of the game is really how it immersed you in a dreamlike state and makes you feel like you're on a journey of self discovery. I'm sure this gameplay experience will stick with me for an age undreamed of!

This game is special, not only because it marks the most welcome return of Ken and Roberta Williams to game design, but also playing it makes me feel like I did as a kid experiencing King's Quest for the first time - a sense of wonder while exploring a world full of surprises round every corner. The objective of the game is simple - find all the treasures hidden in the cave - but finding your way through its mazelike passages and great caverns is far from simple. Fortunately there's an automap feature that maps your progress as well as any items you've dropped, as unlike most other adventure games you can't put an infinite number of items down your pants ;) I was thrilled to play the game as it was being developed and got totally hooked exploring every nook and cranny of the cave, and even when you reach the end it feels like there's something else to discover. I would have liked to see more NPC interaction or expansion in certain areas, and my main criticism is that it's sometimes too faithful to the original and players may not fully appreciate it without any knowledge of the text adventure. I'll be playing it again to try and get maximum points but for now my one word review is COLOSSAL :D

If you're looking for a game to wile away a winter's night, this would be most appropriate! It perfectly captures the atmosphere of a Russian winter, even though I don't live in Russia...Being locked out of your house starts a chain of events that lead you through a total of only three screens, though each one is full of things to do and people to interact with. The puzzles are very well thought out and aren't too illogical, except for maybe the one with the pickles ;) For a single indie dec this is an impressive effort and definitely worth your time!
