3 years ago when Dark Souls came out I got the game not knowing anything about it, and I ended up dropping out of college due to my uncontrollable obsession with that game. Dark Souls 2? It's been 4 days, I've already been dumped and lost my job. I mean, how can you not marvel at this game? It takes all the issues of Dark Souls 1 and polishes it. Summoning? Such a simple task! Fast, easy, and simplified for trying to connect with specific people. More versatility with your character? Yes please. New spell school? Even more please! Easier bonfire transit? Absolutely.

But of course, that means nothing without the glorious battles. Of which there are plenty, I assure you. I tend to classify Dark Souls bosses into 2 categories: skill and gimmicky. In Dark Souls 2, I would say there are many more skill based fights (think 4 Kings) than gimmicky fights (think Bed of Chaos). Overall, I think it's an improvement.

Final verdict? 10/10, totally worth every penny, moment of aggravation, and subsequent loneliness.
