The Beyond Light storyline requires players to give in to the temptation of darkness and commune with the crux of darkness - in other words, spiritually connect with the heart of darkness. This is to harness it's dark powers to kill those who oppose you. For a game that has since been based on following the light and doing good, this is a sudden change the to opposite direction which is bound to throw off many users. If you are religious or have another source of issue with communing with the evil darkness then there is no way to play the majority of Beyond Light.

Other issues include the non-deliverance of the promised rifle and mount that players are given for buying the deluxe edition, which you are not given at the start, but have to earn by playing the Beyond Light Campaign.

Great job to the team over at Bungie as the game looks great, but you are excluding a good amount of players with the choice to force people to "give in" to the "temptation" of the darkness or not play.

Nice refreshing concept for less than an escape room. This was a great choice for my sig. fig. and I.

Early Access Review
Finally a real fighting game!

Heavy Impact is a great take on boxing in VR. The game really shows how powerful room-scale tracking is and makes jumping around seem natural. When fighting, the robotic opponent acts how it should. It reacts and counters very nicely and doesn't let the player win with a cat-fight. Every blow is real and by extension the fights are too. While the game is in early access, there are very few bugs in sight. Heavy Impact could become one of the best VR fighting games.

Gooblins is a leaderboard driven wave based arcade game for the whole family. The UI is well done, the effects look great, and the game mechanics are original. The Gooblins, which look like some sort of alien species out of a kids movie, slowly close in while reacting to shots in their own distinct ways. Some of them dodge, some shoot back, and a few go kamikaze at high speeds. The sound effects warn when shots are coming, and the combo meter on the gun offers a fun way to earn more points. For a quick and fun arcade game that can be played with almost anyone, this is a great deal.

Neptune Flux is one my favorite narrative driven titles currently available for VR. I have to say Its somewhat short, as I finished it in an hour. The length to price ratio aside (and addressed below), Its a well made exploration game with professional dialogue, great atmosphere, and perfect mechanics. If your looking for a long term investment this is not for you, but as a quick adventure for an otherwise empty week night its great.

Without spoilers, the ending is a bit sudden and I really had to think about it to make sense of what just happened. It seems like an origin story to something larger, as if another game could continue from exactly where this one leaves off. It reminds me of games like Firewatch and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. While Neptune Flux was very entertaining the first play-through, I didn't want to replay it myself as much as I wanted to throw my friends in and watch them figure it out. Its like watching someone trying to solve a simple puzzle in nearly complete darkness - actually, that is exactly what this is. This game would make for an interesting speed-run.

Final Note:
At this point in time VR games are still pretty new and making them is not cheap at all. I can justify paying up for this game because I know that the developers needs to make something after Steam's cut in order to afford this level of content for us early adopters. The cost of VR equipment and games should drop over the years. I'm happy to support the devs and hope to see some additions to this story in the future.

The Steam version of this game is a great port of the original title. It works very well and has been updated to run on more modern computers, but does require the user to use lower their display resolution before starting the game to get the correct size user interface.

This is by far one of the most fun exploration games I\'ve ever played. There isn\'t much to it, and therefore not much to learn. You simply walk around and listen to the well written (and spoken) commentary of your actions. With loads of different paths to take and alternate events along each one, the game is very re-playable. This game is worth every penny.
