Witchfire is a unique and fascinating game.

It combines elements from roguelites, souls-likes, extraction shooters and RPGs to deliver a challenging, but fulfilling gameplay experience.
The synopsis of the gameplay loop is as follows: embark on an expedition to an accursed land, navigate through the terrain and traps laid by the Witch, purge her minions, and grow in strength with the boons granted by your deity to slay even more of the occult. Failure will cause you to drop your hard-earned loot, but it can be salvaged from your corpse if you return to your site of death, secure the loot, and survive.

When your inquisition is complete, return to your cliffside hermitage to upgrade your tools of persecution and empower your character against the Witch by devoting your currency to upgrade your health, stamina, spell cooldowns and other stats. Additional weapons, equipment and spells can be acquired to strengthen your arsenal in your crusade. Eventually, you will find allies that will join your cause and serve in a variety of ways.

The world of Witchfire is a dark fantasy. you are a Preyer, a sinner turned witch hunter, an immortal zealot of the Church ordered to vanquish the Witch of the Black Sea and her hordes of undead to be redeemed of your sins. On your perilous expeditions, you will come across ransacked villages and crumbling fortresses, a dire reminder of your mission against the Witch and the chaos that she hath wrought. You will learn that the world itself is hostile, inhospitable, and melancholic. Jagged cliffs threaten to betray you of your footing; smothering fog which seeks to choke you out; a fractured mountain that has claimed the lives of many. The lands you traverse are dangerous, yet captivating. When you are not slaying the hordes of evil, you will be enthralled by the picturesque landscapes.

Witchfire is an outstandingly optimised game. I have an old, but competent system which achieves near-maximum graphic settings, while simultaneously delivering silky smooth FPS. Despite being in early access, I have yet to encounter a single bug, glitch or crash.

To summarise,
Witchfire has no equal. It proudly makes a name for itself and distinguishes itself from any other game by masterfully fusing genre elements to form an unforgettable, cohesive, and bewitching experience.
I strongly recommend Witchfire.

Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person shooter roguelike with a distinct art style.

Features:
- At the time of writing this review, there are 10 characters to play as, each with different play styles and unlockable abilities earned via completing specific achievements.
- Stages are procedurally generated, where chests and other interactable entities spawn randomly across the stage.
- The difficulty is always increasing, with enemies gaining health & damage modifiers as well as rarer and more dangerous enemies being added to the pool of possible combatants.
- At the time of writing this review, there are 2 alternative game modes; time trials and 'Eclipse', where the game becomes harder each time you beat it.
- 'Artifacts' which dramatically change the way the game is played, with some Artifacts allowing you to choose your items, enemies exploding upon death, enabling friendly fire etc.
- Can be played solo & offline as well as up to 4 players.

My only quarrel with Risk of Rain 2 is that the update cycle is slow, with content updates coming every ~3 months
