This game is the game I should have been playing for the roughly 3000 hours i put into CSGO and PUBG only for both of those games to turn to complete greed based rubbish. I played the original ARMA II mod briefly but like most people I was completely confounded by the ARMA II complexities at the time.

I used to love modding, having grown up with the OG Desert Combat mod for BF 1952, and having my own had a taste for modding itself using Z modeller a few times to produce modded cars for the GTA series. I honestly thought the concept had been sort of killed off by game producers constant use of competition style workshop content additions to the games, and the constant monetisation of in-game economies.

Day Z, is an amazing return to those values that drew me to video games in the first place. The ability to immerse yourself in the world's which you've had a hand in creating, or at the very least being able to appreciate the handiwork of other contributors, deepens the gaming experience and makes it richer. Sure it's not a perfect game, and there are many glitchy components and sometimes you do just fall through the map and die... but it's all worth it.

If you play this game in 2020 it feels like predictive programming. More of a horror component to it now for sure. We just might be f***ed.

Like many others, I bought this game and played it quite a bit, but then Rockstar took it back. Would like a refund Steam...

Flippin' excellent fun. This game enjoys the added bonus of a supported and active modding community, integrated easily within the UI of the game, adding heaps of content.

I'd recommend it easily based solely upon the rush of vertigo you will receive after jumping off your first mountain. Go for it and enjoy!

When I started playing this game, in early access, it was great despite the bugs, hacker, and lack of content. Now, it has too many modes, not enough players, and it cooks my cpu within 15 mins of running training mode on lowest settings. This game sucks and it is horribly optimised. Also, the store is constantly updated with pointless skins that cost upwards of $10 for a gun skin (which are ugly as hell and unrealistic), the amount of content you can buy using rewards earned in-game is pathetically small. I basically have given up on this game, and it used to be my number 1. :'(

2021 Update: The game is now even more broken than it was previously. The fact it is still available to buy ant there are "season passes" available for in-game money should be some sort of fraud related crime. This game is possibly the biggest disappointment of my entire gaming career.

DO NOT BUY EVEN IF THEY THREATEN THE KITTENS.

CS:GO Review
I liked csgo quite a bit, more than a baguette, but less than a bagel.
