With a name like “Attack of the Gigant Zombie vs Unity chan” I wasn’t expecting much – hoping for somewhat of a B-rated movie or action RPG satire type of experience. Sadly, it just felt more like an student project with some strange design choices. For instance, I clicked on the Credits and Manual from the main menu and found they aren't even implemented in the game itself, and open up in a text file. The instructions that are in the game consist of MS Paint looking images that do not match any of the HUD display. Luckily, someone did put together a guide so I wasn’t completely lost.

Overall, it has a cluttered feel with Unity store assets that don’t go together, such as random modern furniture pieces placed in outdoor areas. All of these items can be picked up and brought back to the main screen to decorate the house, however, the game is poorly optimized and although it encourages the player to collect these items, it eventually will bog down the game so much that it becomes unplayable.

It has a very loose story that didn’t come together or explain any of peculiarity. Combat consists of spamming the attack button – a few special abilities are picked up, but they are essentially useless as the standard attack is far more powerful. Although some of the boss fights did seem original, in the end it doesn’t feel like a game at all, but more of a project someone would share freely with family or close friends.

Mutation Phase is a very basic FPS with some RPG elements that seems to be more fluff than substance. It starts off promising with a story about how the zombies came to be and your character needs to collect weapons and find a way of communication to destroy them. There are 6 levels that unfortunately never really pick up after the first level.

The gameplay is very repetitive and boring, which can be summed up like this: move along the predefined path and listen for footsteps, which indicate another zombie mob is on their way. Take out the zombies, search their bodies for health and ammo, and reload weapons/restore health. Rinse and repeat. The first few levels are the same 3 zombie enemy types and then the last few levels introduce a new bigger zombie into the mob.

Other than the full screen of text that is displayed when starting a new game, there is no more story. The game just leads the player on from one military complex to an open woods area and then another complex, where it just abruptly ends after a single boss battle. Majority of the areas look the same and the levels are just copied/pasted sections together to give the illusion of a larger area. Many of the rooms/buildings cannot even be entered. Additionally, the majority of the game is very dark so little detail was needed within the level design as they end up just being huge empty rooms.

The RPG elements are simply picking up health and ammo from bodies and desk drawers. There were a few notes/memos that could be read, but they didn’t tie into the story. There were no puzzles or anything else to keep the game interesting. There is just not a lot of content in general. It might be worth it if you can get this in a cheap bundle, but don’t expect more than about 15 minutes of actual content that is dragged out into 1-2 hours.

G-Dino's Jungle Adventure is another 'Nekyau' 1-2 minute long shovelware title.
Just watch the trailer to experience the entire game. Every "game" they spam the store with is basically just royalty free assets mashed together in a few hours that resembles something made from a quick beginner tutorial.
