the metroidvania association is weird with this game. it is not one of those games. it's a puzzle platformer. great for the genre. not my cup of tea. play at your discretion but do not expect to become an unkillable god with 50 upgrades by the time you beat the game.

the GoG version regularly goes on sale for a couple dollars so that is the version most people will prefer. however, if you do not want to bother with modding for HD and for the fan-made expansion, this is a perfectly fine version to play, despite what the naysayers would tell you. it's still heroes 3. i played a ton of it. i didn't even *realize there were expansions for it until very recently*. your mileage may vary.

would recommend buying on sale though as you are still supporting ubisucks

Reloaded has "more" to do but this is still a fine time if you like what they call euroshmups.

this is a good game! would recommend it. don't really have much to say about it - it's a fairly straight forward adventure, and it just is kinda fun to play. not a terrible amount of depth but it doesnt need it

if you like rpgs you gotta play this im deadly seriously like get on this rn u could die and not experience this game you owe it to yourself

There are better shmups out there. Play those.

I can tell this game is good. Great even. It is absolutely not for me, unfortunately. Still recommend it.

it's pretty alright. not a lot of depth or variety to what's on offer, but it's a decent time. are there better games in the genre? sure, i guess, but the style and ease of play makes up for it, instead of having 25 different progression systems that hide a weaker core gameplay loop.

the price plays in its favor. it is... fine. not terribly exciting but not terribly great either. there's some fun to be had, but it's not the best shmup you'll play in your life. definitely very casual friendly though.

free from the clutches of wiiware, but the game definitely does not feel like it controls well with a mouse. would still recommend because of the lower price during sales, but something definitely feels off compared to the wii version.

wouldn't advise at full price.
