it's... fine. my biggest problem with this being a shovel knight spin off is that it makes me want to play pocket dungeon. yes i know they're 2 COMPLETELY different genres, but pocket dungeon knocks it out of the park while this one kind of limps to the finish line?

the gameplay loop is fine, it handles alright, it's just missing a little spark for me to truly enjoy it, and i'm not quite sure what it is. characters design are on point, the knight's moveset is good, i just... wish i liked it more.

this is a thumbs down that's somewhat a thumbs up i guess? i might eventually get back to this review and flip it to positive. i guess, in a way, the fact that the game has me this conflicted is a good thing... time will tell. i still think you should play this game.
