Not the prettiest game, but it had some really nice mini-game mechanics I haven't seen in HOGs before, which was nice. While the overall graphics are nothing to write home about, I quite liked the cartoony character portraits.

The HOGs are of the kind where scale doesn't matter at all, but you can click the item in your list and see an outline of what it is supposed to look like, which is very helpful since sometimes you think you're looking for one thing when you are in fact looking for another. For example with 'date', I was looking for the fruit when it actually meant the day.

I finished this game on my first playthrough and without help in around 2 hours (there's some extra time on Steam where I was away cuddling my dog), which is pretty short in comparison to other HOGs I've played before.

As this game has neither Achievements nor Steam Trading Cards I would only recommend it to people who really like this genre and have played all the prettier games with more story already. It is NOT bad, which is why I'm not not recommending it, but I don't see why you would play this when you could be playing something that is more refined.

I received this game for free from an acquaintance, not the developer/publisher.

It does what it says it does, but sadly not as fun as it sounded. I hoped there would be a bit more story, but it really is just a simple (and really short [under 2 hours to 100%]) platformer where you run and jump backwards. The music was pretty sweet though.

The Mariachi World was the best part, the enemies looked pretty cute with the bandanas.

Seeing as I didn't really have fun though I would not recommend other people use up their time for this, when there are so many better games out there.

I cannot recommend this as a game.
Shan Gui is a kinetic novel, which means there is no player interaction whatsoever aside from advancing the text. In that regard it is okay-ish, but nothing memorable to write home about.

The story, if you can even call it that, is very short and if you're a fast reader you'll be done in about half an hour, which I guess is okay for a 2 EUR game.

Overall the art is consistently solid, though the characters do tend to squint in the stills. The females are also overly busty, which I think doesn't fit the mood (sweet yet slightly nostalgic) of the story at all and was probably only implemented as eye candy.

But the backgrounds, oh boy, those are beautiful and among the best I have seen in any visual novel to date.

Sadly I can't say anything about the voiceacting or music because my sound system is AWOL.

I hate maths!

Yet this game gets me to sit down, actually use my brain and surprisingly I enjoy it.

The basic concept is easy to understand, but that doesn't mean that the actual puzzles are anywhere close to easy. Especially in later levels you really need to think every move through or you'll get stuck pretty fast.

As everytime you close a level it will be reset to a new configuration you will not be able to copy the puzzle and think about it during your commute or the like, but this also means that once you do get stuck you can simply try again and maybe get something that's easier for you.

There's some story to this, though I must confess that after the first slow text scrawl I started skipping it altogether, so I can't comment on the quality of the plot.

Altogether I quite enjoy the game :)

A really well made and interesting game. With about 45 minutes playtime it's a bit short, but it's still fun and that's what counts, right?

The, admittedly easy, puzzles are well integrated into the story and the acting and scenery far better than I expected (they actually got a police car!).

I look forward to Episode Two :)

Edit: Apperently the developer is no more. So what you see in this game is what you get. There will be no continuation. I still think this was a really lovely game, but potential buyers should be aware that they will not be getting a full story here.

This is a simple walking simulator set on a surprisingly pretty tropical island.

After starting the game up you'll get a small pop-up in which you can play around with the settings. After confirming those you get thrown straight into the game with no further instructuions. Which, considering this game is only about walking around and exploring the island, is absolutely acceptable.

You move using "WASD", run with "SHIFT" and change directions using your mouse. Pretty standard and this intuitive.

While wandering around you may interact with "E", picking up apples and seashells for quick and trouble-free achievements.

Exit using "ESC", upon which any achievements you have acquired will be registered.

You may also encounter glowing souls which keep moving around. These are supposedly other players, though you cannot interact with them in any way.

While you are missing the ability to swim, somehow you are able to walk underwater, which reveals a whole new flora and fauna and interesting reflections.

Most of the music used fits the area in which it is played quite well, though there were two cases in which the new pieces were simply too loud in comparison to the ones before that.

All in all (and if you cut out the inner soul stuff) this game delivers what it promises, so I can easily recommend it to those simply interested in kicking back and touring new digital areas.

Please note that even on the setting "fastest" I experienced quite the bit of lag. The mouse reacts overly sensitive as well.

Luna's Wandering Stars is a wonderful, wonderful puzzle game.

The basic game play is easily explained: You control one or more moons with gravity and rockets, all the while trying to collect enough materials to finish the level. If you manage to collect the three gold clumps while you're already at it you'll get a 'perfect' on the level.

The level design is really diverse and the challenges range from accidentally perfected on the first try to a dozen resets and still no luck. The only thing that never changes is the map border made up of text that you really shouldn't cross... I warned you!

The graphics are first class and the controls fluid and intuitive. Well, as fluid as trying to steer a moon using rockets can be anyway.

The written narration is quite witty and the comments when you crash may sometimes tickle a laugh out of you.

Bascically this is a really fun game that I can recommend to pretty much anyone who likes to crash celestial bodies into one another.

As my sound is busted I can currently not say anything about the music and sound effects.

The controls are horrible and the game keeps freezing.
There appears to be no real story and the graphics are of bad quality.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to anyone, not even if it was free to play.

The game is easily explained: You play as Johnny the Enraged Toddler and your goal is to break everything inside the house without running into Mr. Night Night, Mr. Booky Man or Mr. Sleepy Time. Once you do that you get sent to the next house.

Easy peasy.

And that's exactly the problem. The game feels aimless. There's no incentive to finish a house, as you only get sent to a quite identical one and continue from there on. There's no greater goal but to reach a new highscore. There are no achievements to complete. No new characters to unlock. Nothing.

The graphics are pixelated, but okay. The colours though, oh boy: Someone fell into a neon-coloured pot. Everything is sickeningly bright. And that's coming from someone who usually enjoys bright colours.

If there's a major update I might give this game another try, as I think the base idea can be quite fun if executed well, but as is I do not recommend the game.

Patch to prevent level loss upon crashing was installed the day after I crashed and lost some hundred levels.

10/10 would crash again.

But seriously, this is an awesome time waster. Your job is managing heroes and their skills, trying to level up as fast and much as possible. So you click a bit here and a bit there, nothing more. I usually just have it running in the background, because the fun thing is you don't even have to play it, much less have it actually open, to still gain money for hero upgrades. I know, that doesn't really sound fun, but the game is addicting (HELP ME!!!) and makes you open it up again and again. There does not seem to be a real end to the game, so I guess completionists may consider acquiring all the achievements as the finish line.

The graphics and sounds are well-made, bright and very cute. You can learn more about the world this game plays in by reading the hero and skill descriptions. Aside from that there is no real story to the game, simply click and kill.
