It's more of Elden Ring. If you liked the base game, you will like this
The exploration is top notch but a lot of bosses still have the same issues carried over, focusing more on spectacle than the fight itself, however I think it is better in the DLC as it had some of the best fights in the game IMO
It is harder than the base game, but that is to be expected from fromsoft DLC

Excellent game, highly recommended

Just for perspective, I have over 1000 hours in the dark souls trilogy, and I am a huge fromsoft fan. I usually avoid most souls-likes because they can feel like cheap copies, but this game was special. I thoroughly enjoyed my three playthroughs of it, and for me, it had captured that magic feeling that so far, only fromsoft could. Special shout-out to the boss fights. Attacks are telegraphed well, no delayed attacks, and fights can be learnt and executed to perfection with enough tries. The OST is quite enjoyable too, which just adds to the souls experience since usually only fromsoft has nailed good music so far. Highly recommended to souls-fans, especially if you like the games for their fair challenge and the satisfaction that comes from overcoming them. Eagerly looking forward to more from this dev

Randomly stumbled across this game, and decided to try it out after seeing the glowing reviews. This game absolutely lived up to them. The story is one of the best ever, not just in video games, and I hope this underrated gem will be discovered by more people. I cannot recommend it enough.

Excellent story and high replayability. Easy recommendation

Edit: My views have changed after completing my first playthrough and starting subsequent builds. The first playthrough of this game is extremely fun and it is a joy to explore the large world, but it feels like a chore when you have to do it on multiple builds, and this is coming from a person that has done at least 6 to 7 builds in Dark souls 1,2 and 3. Combine this with the fact that the bosses are not balanced well if you try to do them solo without spirit summons, this is the least replayable game in the soulslike genre in my opinion, especially for someone that really loved the older fromsoft games. My first playthrough of Dark souls 3 only took around 50 hours, but I kept playing that game for nearly 700 hours. I doubt I will be able to play this game that much in its current state. I would still highly recommend the game, but I would not put it above the dark souls series
