why do people play these types of games

Been sat in my steam library for years and only just got around to playing it. The game as a whole is incredibly dull and monotonous, and whether by design or not it doesn't make for an enjoyable experience. It does very little with the eastern bloc setting, it's visually uninteresting and audibly boring, and the "story" is incredibly barebones. Mechanically the driving is fine and the car maintenance/inventory management aspect is engaging enough, but there just isn't enough reason for me to care about the car, or the journey, or the destination.

That said, the creative core of the team who created this game and the universe it's set in were forced out of the company last year. Until the IP is returned to it's rightful owners, do not support Studio ZA/UM in any way.

The only real issues I have with this game are the lack of UI scaling for 4k resolution, and the the fact that the multiplayer portion of the game feels like it was developed as an afterthought. That said, this game has been one of my favourite on PC for almost a decade, and I can't recommend it enough.

Gameplay and visuals hold up remarkably well. Only downsides are some very minor technical issues and the gameplay being somewhat repetitive, but neither of these things hinder my enjoyment of the game.

Purchased this back in January, and very little actual content has been added since then. While I adore the game's music and art style, the gameplay lacks depth, and multiplayer is shaky at best. If you're looking for a chill game to kill an hour or so, then I highly recommend this game. But if you're looking for an in-depth sandbox game that you can play for hours on end then I suggest you look elsewhere.
