One of the worst games i ever played in my life

Cyberpunk 2077 was a hot mess on release, i foolishly pre-ordered the game and played it on V1.0 on release it was bad like really bad.... i put it down for a few months and tried again in 1.23 and it was better and managed to do a full play through, with Phantom Liberty coming out tomorrow i decided to give it another play though on 2.0 and its much better there are still bugs and even on a 3080 i still lag in some parts of the map. but overall CDPR have finally delivered 95% of what they promised, Car customisation is still missing unfortunately. But hoping Phantom Liberty is good and CDPR have learned their lesson.

I would recommend this game now in its 2.0 state its really enjoyable and easy to get immersed in NightCity played for 11hrs straight and no game has made me that engrossed and lose track of time in a while.

10/10 my dad would recommend

installed game, automatically launched on my non primary display, When changed to my primary, it would not full screen and would minimize back to desktop instantly. CBA to fix a game i just installed for the first time and can't do something as simple as launch on my main display never had a game do that

Overall i like the update its a good addition to the game. But its just a glorified beta at retail price, Its a buggy unfinished mess at times and some times it all works perfectly. Sad to see no extra ships. The starting tutorial is sh*t, very vague and does not explain very important features, and 9/10 times it bugs out and you have to skip it. The new map is really annoying too, like don't fix what ain't broke FDEV the old map was perfectly fine and functioned seamlessly. This old one if you wanted to see the system map you could just click on the system and the option was right under it. now you have to click on it and its now its own separate button at the bottom on the right like why it was fine where it was, Also don't know if its just me but i can no longer target bookmarked stations and planets from the bookmarks list have to go into the system map then target it.....

PRO'S:
- Nice to see a very big update to elite for the first time in a long time
- The general graphics overhaul looks stunning (when it works properly)
- On foot concept fits the game massively and adds a lot of other experiences which were not there before

CON'S:
- Game is currently in a unstable mess constant black screen to disconnect errors (as of 2/3 days after release)
- Mission Payouts for going to the settlements seem really stingy like 100-400k /mission. Might as well jump in a cutter and do a mapped painite run in 1hr and make 200mil in the time it takes to fly over there do the objective then come back for 100k like bruh im good thanks.
- Ads feel kinda bullet spongy (Might change with engineered weapons)
- Still feels unoptimized. 30-120 fps in starports with a 3080 and a R7 5800x in 1440p at ultra settings.

This game is great fun for the price if you can get it in a sale, for 25-30% off, I highly recommend you play this with a friend though. The General gameplay is quite solid, Spawn on a raft in the middle of a ocean, with a big boi shark ready to chomp you if you feel like dipping one of your toes in water. You then gather materials from the ocean and surrounding islands and progress though the researchables and go to the main islands when you get the codes for the. Basic but effective :)

There a few small gripes i have though, When you die you loose your items permentlly i believe you should have a chance to go collect them, Also how the raft moves when steering it feels janky to me. The Hunger mechanic is annoying as well, i know when you get to the endgame its not to bad, but there is no differentiality of how fast ur water/food goes down, for example if you are stood still for 5 mins you will loose the same amount of hunger as if you were sprinting up a mountain for 5 mins

TL;DR: Ok game if bought for the right price in a sale, Best played with another person. Movement can be janky and the huger mechanic is to be desiered.

If you use Index controllers don't buy this game, the mappings are abysmal constantly keep turning the safety on and off dropping the mags. Also loading the guns you constantly hit the controllers together causing reload times to take a age. When i played this on my old oculus it was fine the mappings were great, so if you own a Vive or Oculus i do recommend this game but be warned it does get boring after a while.
