Incredibly fun and addictive FPS Roguelite. Nice visual design and satisfying combat. Runs well with stable 60+ FPS @1080p on my GTX 1650 laptop and over 240 FPS @1440p on a GTX 1080 Ti desktop.

My only gripe is that I wish there was more variety in starting levels sort of like Dead Cells. You play the same levels in the same order each time. Despite the lack of level variety, there is a good amount of enemy types, which in different combos keep the gameplay fresh and interesting.

In its current state, it's and 8 to 8.5/10 for me; mainly due to lack of level variety. With more content, this is easily a 9/10 game. I'm having a blast.

I came home from work last night and stayed up until 3 am playing Alyx (6.5 hrs). By far my longest stretch playing VR in recent memory. This game is beyond my expectations.

With just the medium preset, the visuals are absolutely stunning. The lighting, character models, environments all gorgeous beyond measure. Not only is it the by far the best looking VR game, it is one of the best looking video games period.

With such high end visuals, the performance is actually pretty solid. I'm playing on an Index at 100% resolution at 144hz on a six year old i7-4790k and a 1080 Ti. I think my cpu is struggling a bit, so I'm getting around 30% reprojection. Although that's not great, it is still around a 100 fps average. To reduce stuttering, I changed my refresh rate to 90hz and maintain that frame rate 99% of the time. Compared to other AAA VR games (Fallout, No Man’s Sky), the performance is substantially better while looking 2.5 times as pretty.

Gameplay wise, Alyx plays sort of like Arizona Sunshine combined with Boneworks physics with a limited ammo, loot and scavenge system similar to RE4. Overall, the gameplay loop is very satisfying, and I find looting rooms and scouting the environment as engaging as shooting headcrabs flying at my face.

I really can't find a reason not to recommend HL: Alyx. I think it is everything we hoped for and more. Top notch visuals, sound, story, gameplay loop and sense of presence. Valve proves they still got it, and I can't wait to hear a helmet on my face for another six hour session.

TLDR: It's basically RE4 in VR. Amazing game.

An instant VR favorite for me. It's Beat Saber combined with Superhot on rails, and it'll definitely work up a sweat (wear a headband to avoid sweat damaging your HMD!)

If you're a leaderboard chaser or a VR veteran looking for something new, I think you'll find a lot here to justify the price. There is nothing in the VR (or flat game) market quite like Pistol Whip.

Edit 1: If you're struggling to consistently hit your shots, try turning on the "deadeye" and "no fail" modifiers. This way, you can use the game as target practice and focus on shooting away with your true aim. Doing about 45 minutes of this has helped me improve my normal mode accuracy from around 78% to 88%.

Edit 2: After practicing more with the "deadeye" modifier, this is my preferred way to play this game. Even if you have no interest in the rhythm aspect, beating levels on normal with "deadeye" gives a very difficult challenge followed by a high sense of reward I can only compare to the Souls series. Just getting by and beating the level will surely give you a strong score on the leaderboard.

I love the game. The melee combat is the best I've experienced in any VR title.

But please add Valve Index Support. The only workaround is adding pseudo vive into steamvr drivers, which can cause issues in other titles.

Game is like a top-down version of rocket league with Overwatch abilities on ~30 to 45 second timers. Very easy to pick up and improve quickly.

There appears to be a high skill cap as great players can carry a team of first-timers against 3 veterans. I'm looking forward to seeing where this one goes, and I think it has a shot at esport potential. Even if the game doesn't take off, I'll continue to play, because I find it a lot fun.

Only negatives for me are the rage quit problem granting you no xp, and the lack of graphical settings like anti aliasing. Overall, it's quick competitive fun and an absolute blast with a group of friends.

My favorite sport-like game in VR. From years of tennis and racquetball, I can say the racket swinging and flicking mechanics are very accurate. If you have any experience with racket sports, you should catch on very quickly.

The solo campaign is extremely polished and introduces new challenges little by little as you progress, and the leaderboard / star rating incentives you to master each level.

The best part about this game is the multiplayer. It's a constant back and forth against an equally skilled opponent and can lead to some epic finishes and comebacks.

If the trailer looks like a game you'd enjoy, I'd say go for it. This game is the best in its class.

Gameplay feels pretty similar to Skyfront VR, which is also a flying shooter. What Jet X does to differentiate itself is the game modes in addition to deathmatch. There is a racing mode (really fun) and my favorite, energy core. In this mode, everyone is after the energy core. When someone picks it up, everyone gangs up to kill them and drop the core. Next person picks it up and flies away from everyone to hold the core as long as possible. First player to hold the core for a total of 100 seconds wins.

Right now, the player base is pretty small, but if you can convince a friend or two to also buy in, it is loads of fun.

I never played the original Risk of Rain, but I absolutely love this game. The game will eventually overrun you, but as you complete achievements, you unlock stronger items that help you to progress even further for your next runs. It's extremely addicting and rewarding for your time.

Each class feels completely unique from one another, and there's an option for all skill levels. Engineer and huntress are new player-friendly whereas Mul-T and mercenary take a little more mechanical skill.

If you like roguelikes, hero shooters or both, this game is a must buy. It is extremely polished for an early access title, and there is enough content right now to justify the $20 price tag.

Cool experience and relaxing BUT

- I have to add + 0.65 meters to play space in advanced VR tools to get to boat level
- Audio cut out completely later on in ride

Would recommend if it were not for these issues

It's too early to know for sure, but this may be my favorite VR game to date.

Many describe this game as Mario Kart in VR except you're running.

Excellent map design, voice acting, and revolutionary gameplay. I love the arm swinging locomotion (no motion sickness) and all the advanced mechanics you can add to your arsenal as your skills improve.

I believe this is the next big VR Esport game along side Echo Arena. Do yourself a favor and git gud now. If you wait, there may be a frustrating skill gap between you and the veterans.
