343I should be put into a gulag for making this garbage. A half dead RAT could do better. Just buy MCC and play with friends its 3000000% better than this SLOP

I really like the game but cannot recommend it due to the terrible performance issues in the game. I have 3080 and 5800X3d and it runs really badly without fsr3 and framegen. I get around 35-55fps on medium without any upscaling or framegen. Will update my review if this gets fixed.

Very short single player game, MP seems dead. The gunplay is a little whack and it suffers from the issues that alot of shooter ports from console suffered from in the early 2010s. However it has a decently refreshing setting and the world building seems very well executed. It is definitely worth it for a 2 dollar pickup but I wouldn't buy it for 20 dollars.

A really really good game. It clearly had effort put into it. The story and characters are great. The writing is unique. There were points where I thought I knew what a character's backstory was or what would happen to them only to be blindsided with something I didn't expect and that elevated the character's story above and beyond. There are times where the game gets tedious and the encounters become annoying but it is so worth it when you reach the ending of the game. The story was really engaging and heartfelt, it made me feel sad for these characters and happy for them too, by the end of the story I couldn't help but have a smile on my face. I look forward to whatever this developer makes in the future, it will probably be a day one buy for me.

Don't bother buying this game, the dev team messed it up and left. Also it's infested with cheaters and those who defend them.

High on Life is a first-person shooter created by Squanch Games, headed by Justin Roiland, Co-creator of Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites. In this game, you take on an alien drug cartel known as the G3, who have descended upon Earth to use humans as drugs. It's now up to you to defeat the G3 leaders and save the Human race. You team up with various talking weapons voiced by a slew of different voice actors and internet personalities. I want to go over a few aspects of this game, like the humor, gameplay, and story.

The Humor
This is the first thing I want to go over as in High on Life, the other aspects of this game take a backseat to the comedy. Now with this being said if you don't enjoy Roiland's style of adlib comedy and voice acting. You most likely will not like this game. If you do, then you're in for a treat with this game. The game makes heavy use of meta-jokes and 4th wall breaks. Background NPCs will have literally 5 minutes of dialogue you can stay and listen to, most of it will be filled with jokes. Some of them land pretty well, and others do not. You don't have to stay and listen to it, you can continue on blasting enemies and ignore the dialogue too, although the game may call you out for it...

The Gameplay
The gameplay is pretty simple first-person shooter mechanics. You acquire various different types of weapons throughout the game that have special abilities like the glob shot, giving you the ability to juggle enemies in the air or solve puzzles. These weapons can be upgraded in-game by defeating bosses and location treasure chest aliens which reward you pesos that you can spend at shops in various parts of the maps. The movement is somewhat basic until you get upgrades like the jetpack and the powerslide. Although, one complaint I do have is how these upgrades interact with each other. For example, you cannot powerslide into a fast jump. Your jump speed will remain the same, this makes the controls feel clunky, but servicable. This game shines pretty well in its boss fights, it's on the easier side, but fun. In contrast, some of the normal enemies can be a slog to fight your way through, not hard, just tedious.

The Story
The story was what kept me playing the game. The character interactions are funny and goofy. There are very two-dimensional characters in the game, however, they are used to further another character's development in most cases. In my opinion, the characters being the way they are makes them very endearing and ties the game together. The game has a satisfying conclusion, and if you know where to look and what to grab it sets up a possible sequel or DLC.

TLDR
Looking at any one piece of this game makes it look mediocre, but put it all together and you get a pretty solid game. Maybe not worth 60 dollars, especially if you are not a big fan of Roiland's style of humor, but still worth picking up on sale. Decent gameplay, fun story.

The racing is better than MW 2012, and the cops are slightly better and worse in different aspects. They aren't as insane as in MW 2012 where they will literally just head on you and ruin your day, but in rivals you can be escaping and a new cop will spawn right behind you and just suck the fun out of the game. The handling feels more enjoyable than MW 2012 but the game itself is more gimmicky and unfun in general. Not a fan of pursuit tech.

This is just my opinion and if your a hardcore NFS fan go and pick it up on sale I guess, just be ready to play at 30 fps as attempts to patch the game to 60fps will break certain races and events. You also need to go with an out of game anti-aliasing solution because as far as I'm aware there is no option for it in-game.
