I've played Dragon Age Inquisition and it's my first game in the series, and I thought that game was amazing 8/10. But I know people still thinks Dragon Age Origins in the best one, so I tried it, and yes it is better in many ways. DAO's RPG is 10 times better than DAI's RPG, the replayability is awesome, you can definalty have a diffrent playthrough everytime, ecspecialy with choosing your race in DAO, because each race have diffrent options like dwarf can be nobles or commoner and its going to determine your start, etc. While in DAI choosing a race doesn't really matter in the RPG aspect (maybe some NPC's mentioning the race you chosen, because they love them or hate them bla bla bla) I thinks this puts DAO in a higher place than DAI. But, I did find myself needing to get used with the gameplay in DAO, and in my opinion DAI is a bit better in this aspect, but when your used to the gameplay here in DAO it can be as enjoyable as DAI's. so to summarize, yes I recommend this game, ecspecialy if your a big RPG fan. 9/10
