This game will consume many days of your life.
4pm: Yeah, a new Civ 5 game! Can't wait to start it!
7pm: OK, back from dinner, this is going really well! Got a nice army and a few cities.
8pm: Great, now I'm ready to attack Rome!
10pm: I managed to take one of his cities. I'll have to rebuild my army to take the rest.
11pm: Attacking the rest of his Civ now, he's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
1am: Phew, annexed all his cities and can start to build with them again.
1:30am: Eh, I have such a huge empire I might as well kill everyone else.
3am: I can't do this, I still have 2 more empires to defeat!
4am: JUST ONE MORE TURN!

How good is Fallout 4 as an RPG, and the answer however you look at it, is not very when compared to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, even the elder scrolls games. I feel like the fallout franchise isn't given the same love and care as the TES series has - as Bethesda chooses to go down a much more story driven path with Fallout. But in my personal opinion after about 100 hours of the game - a good 20 - 40 hours consisting of settlement building - the game fails tremendously to deliver the great standard of Role Playing in Fallout 4 that the studio is so well known for. The thing all players hated the most was the bloody dialog, what even is this thing?! I thought we were playing Fallout 4 not Mass Effect 4 (over used joke intensifies). Not only is it the most jank thing to control for a mouse and keyboard warrior such as myself, the wheel is just a no no. And I believe it is partially due to this wheel that the dialog is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥. How are we suppose to shape and create our own character when we have no bloody idea what we're about to say. Thankfully this is fixed though mods but I can't help but feel this is such a poor business ethic for the company. "Don't bother fixing the UI for PC players they'll do it themselves, you just wait." Why try to fix something that isn't broken?
Is Fallout 4 a dumbed down RPG? YES, you would be stupid to disagree. I would even go as far as to say that Fallout 4 is a shooter game with RPG elements rather than an RPG with shooter elements, ya' know like Fallout 3. And that's a way many other people are using to describe the game.

Still throughout all of this the game is still amazing by any means of the word. For sure worth a buy if you love shooters and open world games, however I sadly can't say the same for RPG fans so confidently as this falls short when compared to FO3, NV and just other RPGs in general. I feel like this game is well worth your money even at £40 and with Mods the game will be more tuned to feel more like the RPG most of us wanted and expected.

Fresh install fixed my crash and it doesnt use games with windows. The game itself is awsome, with an ENB this will last untill fallout 4 for sure. VERY GOOD GAME

Amazing game, truly one of my top 5 fav ever. Completed it 5 times on xbox although on pc if you dont have a controller the controls can be a little rusty. Other than that 5 stars
