So now that I've finally finished the story of dying Light 2 I wanted to write a review based upon my own, personal feelings and opinions about it. Feel free to disagree. Not that I care to much tho. After all, everyone has their own opinion.

So the story was a solid 10/10 - much better than the first Dying Light for me. This time I actually felt attached to every character I wanted to feel attached to and, not attached to those who I didn't wanted to feel attached to. Tho later down the game I started feeling attached to some characters I didn't feel attached to at first and vice versa.

Which perfectly leads us to the probably most prominent feature of this game: Decision Making
Now the thing with making decisions in this game: DL1 didn't really gave the player the opportunity to choose how they wanted to play their game.
I feel like DL2 did a good job with that. Whenever it came down to the story based decisions there was always a consequence behind it. Even the side quests which involved important decisions felt pretty good, you could really decide to help someone and let them live or send them to their death bed, it's really up to the player and how they choose to play, which I like. Also I've never thought that any of the effects of story related decision were meaningless or could've been achieved using other decisions. Once you made your decision, there was no telling how it would go out which I liked, even tho it was very scary at times.
Although not always there, you sometimes had a timer going donw while having to choose between two very important decisions. Those were the times that made me sweat my ass off honestly as these decisions had me thinking very hard. Thinking about what consequences each decision could bring with it.
Overall I enjoyed how the game handled most of the decision making. Sometimes there were situations where I didn't enjoy it as much tho.
For example when it came down to assigning faction structures. Once you pressed the button to assign a structure, you couldn't leave the screen. Meaning if you forget to loot the place or certain areas you couldn't get it anymore as assigning a structure would remove all the loot that was there. Or if you forget which part of the map you wanted to assign to one faction, you couldn't go back to the map to look at it; you had to make the decision before you could do anything else. That was probably the only but also quite annoying thing about decision making in this game.
With that in mind, I give the decision making in this game a 9-9.5/10.

The gameplay was much better than the first game. The gameplay against Zombies remained as much fun as it did in the first game if not even better to be honest.
The gameplay against humans tho... that got an very much noticable improvement. This time it wasn't as luck based as it was in the first game; this time you could actually block, use parkour effectively against them and other tactics, just how the player would see fit. Something the first Dying Light didn't have unfortunately.
The only thing I didn't like all too much were the boss fights. They were fun and enjoyable, yet a little too easy. The enemy's behaviour was always the same, reading it was a piece of cake. Not to mention that the bosses didn't have enough aggressive behaviour to show in the first place. The only boss battles that felt more boss-battle like were the ones with more than one phase to go through.
The only enemy types I truly had respect for and didn't just kill for the sake of rolling heads and flying limbs were Renegades and Volatiles. Both because they showed the most aggression and dealt the most damage, not to mention them eventually starting to adapt to my moves, making me actually think a little sometimes.
Not until I got the crossbow tho. That thing usually kills enemies with an average of 2 shots, 4 at best, which is way to strong in my opinion.
For reference I played this game on "hard", the highest difficulty in the game with human and zombie healthbars turned off.
Based on that combat gets a 8/10 from me.

Now the parkour. First of all: it's great! Definitely a 10/10.
It felt much more fluid and smooth than it did with the first one. Parkour in general was very satisfying. Some old skills from the first game you could find in the skill tree, others were a given thing and some, not really important ones, were left out which isn't a big deal at all as I for my part didn't feel like something was missing.

Now onto the graphics: I thought of them as very beautiful. I played with a RTX 2070 SUPER on max settings, DLSS on QUALITY and RTX completely turned off and the game ran on smooth 60fps the entire time.
The lighting and shadows still looked very good, as well as other effects like fire, lightning or explosions.
Sure the game could've looked better probably but for me, seeing as how much better DL2 looks compared to the first game, I think the graphics are very solid. Not to mention the level of detail in the world. I'll give graphics a solid 9.5/10.

The music is a 11/10 if I'm honest. The main theme of the game became iconic for me the second I heard it when launching the game and seeing the cutscene you'll always get when launching the game. But also the music in general while playing the game was nice. You didn't have music all the time but, when you did, it was great. For example you had music during boss fights, no matter if on top of a building or down on the streets which is important as music on the street wasn't really a thing most of the time because the game wanted to bring a certain vibe to the streets and, cutting of the music was one of the ways it did it.
While on the buildings you could start getting music in the background when you did parkour which felt amazing, probably one of the most brightest parts of the game. Because you would literally do simple parkour and all of a sudden you'd hear music in the background, first quite and not too present, building up with each move you did and once you've made that big jump from one roof to another: BOOM, you had one very nice, loud and present track running in the background alongside with you. Made you almost not want to arrive at your marked destination and run around for a couple more minutes.

Now before I end this review of mine I quickly wanted to talk about bugs.
Yeah this game has bugs too, tho not too many luckily.
The most were just zombies or humans being dead while standing which happened maybe 3 times at best in my entire playtime when writing this review.
One more annoying bug was unfortunately one that stayed the entire game (if it is a bug, I'm not too sure) which was: not being able to sell all my clothes or weapons. Sometimes I'd have, let's say, 16 weapons and 12 pieces of clothes which I wanted to sell. I sometimes would only be able to sell 6-10 weapons and 4-8 clothes for example. I don't know why but, that definitely was annoying as I had to drop those items in order to get new space which wasn't the way I wanted to get rid of those items.
Now onto the worst bug which luckily only occured once: a bug which forced me to go into the main menu and back into the game, starting those tasks again. Didn't have to restart the entire mission tho, thanks to the game saving pretty much everytime anything happened because you can't save on your own which is kind of a shame and also uncomfortable but, you get used to it. At least I did.
Now in order to complete (story)mission I needed to first kill all the infected that were in the same room and then find any survivors left in that same area. I searched most places but could reach the last one only if I killed every infected. Here comes the bug: the last infected somehow got stuck behind a wall, making it impossible for me to reach and kill it.
Those were the only real bugs I encountered while playing the game.

So as a whole I'd give this game a 9.5/10.

Hope anyone who reads this review found it helpful in any kinf of way.

It has many bugs and glitches, some of which are annoying and some which are actually quite funny.

For example: One annoying glitch is that you can't pick up certain items (just loot tho and not even good loot) which is kinda annoying sometimes.
And one funny would be ♥♥♥♥ like NPC's T-Posing or smth like that.

One thing that also bothers me is the AI. It seems to be a little too sensitive imo. They tend to overreact over the smallest things which shouldn't cause a reaction at all.
They also sometimes don't seem to walk like normal humans. Example: they walk on the parking space on the side of the road instead of walking on the side walk like normal human beings. It can get a little bit annoying almost running them over because you want to park your car.
And the thing is: if you don't get your car 100% off the road other AI cars are not going to drive anymore. They won't just drive past your car even if it just it's just about 10% on the road. They'll literally stop and wait until your car is off the road for good.

Also the police seems to be a bit weird too. Instead of coming from a certain distance they just pop up, like they literally spawn besides you. So you got basically no time to hide from them in the first place. If you don't run you're done for because once you start shooting at them it doesn't take them half a minute to spawn so many enemys (about a dozen) that you literally get overwhelmed by them.

I just wanna say if you do have a big problem with stuff like that please wait until these things get fixed properly. It really can get annoying.

Anyways now to the positive stuff of the game: It looks fantastic! I'm playing with a 2070 SUPER, which allows me to have pretty high graphic settings while not dying of low frames. Leaving RTX off while having all the other graphic settings on ultra is letting me play the game at solid 30fps. Sure, some may say that's low but I got no problems with that. Yeah, I could turn on DLSS and play with 60fps+ but that would kinda turn down the graphics (talking about the resolution - it kinda gets grainy if you know what I mean) which I don't want even tho I really like having at least 60fps in a game.

The story of this game is really nice. Got me hooked up the second I started it. I'm kinda slow at playing it tho cause of all the small side quests that you can do. There is nothing more chill than driving through NC with your car, enjoying the view while killing some gangs here and there. You can literally play 8hrs a day and if you're lucky you get 1, 2 or even 3 missions of the main story done. At least in my case.

So in conclusion I'd recommend this game even tho it has it's flaws. Yes there are bugs and glitches, some of them are a bit weird and annoying and the AI's also pretty weird... but if you ignore all that stuff this game's definitely a blast. Haven't played such an enjoyable game in a while!

Played this as a little kid.
*After some years passing*
Still playing it. But this time on Steam.
It's a great game if you're a fan of Star Wars and Strategy Games.

This game has a huge amount of fun mods so you have a big varity of settings you can have in this game. You wanna play in the Galactic Civil War with some extras? You wanna play in the good old Clone Wars? Mods surely make this possible.
You can even play scenarios you wouldn't have imagined if the mods for it didn't exist.

And the best thing about all this. If you want to you can even play this with your friends.

I love it and I hate it. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
