I've been enjoying this one for a long time - definitely a great buy even at full price. Turn-based squad strategy expertly done by the same company that's doing the Civilization games. There's base building but it isn't really much. Soldier customization is all right, especially with a few mods (I really love the Minsc voice).

Once you finish the whole thing up, you can try out the Long War 2 mod. This thing acts like a huge expansion pack adding classes, officers, several more skills, a much more interesting global strategy. Oh, and it's still as brutal as ever. Be sure to follow the intructions when installing!
