This game is difficult, yet rewarding.

Played plenty of golf sims, and this one is the most realistic.

Fun with friends locally, not always easy to find a multiplayer game online.

Worth it if on sale, don't think it warrants full price.

Would recommend starting out on master clubs straight away.

I dunno, I kinda like it.

Bought a few cheap cards, still got crushed by standard decks.

Read some review that said you can play "unlimited casual draft if you poor".

Shame on you, cringeworthy - anti P2W is a principle many gamers subscribe to - doesn't really concern your wallet.

I'm not that poor, but I've played 21 hours of casual draft - I love it.

I will not be tapping out my credit card on this game - yet still proper enjoyable.

It's taken me 50h to get into this game and say I'm comfortable with the basics, there is still much to learn. Guides are definitely recommended, do yourself a favour.

At first I was sceptical, combat is iffy - research is wacky and if you apply the normal strategy approach to this game it falls short miserably in those areas.

HOWEVER - after a while you realise this game is so much more. You're a person, and CK2 is all about relationships. And once you turn your focus to your dynasty is when the fun begins - and it is really really fun.

After many many attempts and restarts I finally conquered noob island and became King of Ireland, even crushed Scotland and all is well. What a journey it had been:

I got sick - My court physician got a goat to fart on me for my gout symptoms, it helped a lot.

My father (me then) delved in the dark arts and wanted to live forever. Instead of living forever he was reincarnated as a baby (me).

When I turned 50 a nun came seeking refuge for the evening, I gladly obliged. Instead this nun ended up being Death who came for my soul (thanks Father). I still wonder what if I wasn't greedy and paid for the hotel.....

I begged and pleaded, and it came down to a game of chess. I sacrificed my sister for a piece, but I lost narrowly and death consumed me.

Now once again I'm a little baby (me tomorrow), ruling over Ireland and most of Scotland.

I had a genius heir lined up for the occasion, but he was murdered by my overly ambitious wife before my plot to kill her succeeded - now I'm just this scrawny clubfooted brat I never paid attention to.

That's just a snippet of the weird and wonderful things that happen in CK2 - it's a role playing game and it's what you make of it.

Don't buy every DLC if any at all, plenty of guides on the most useful and they always go on special. Give all the DLC that don't add to the gameplay a massive skip (portraits, shields and soundtracks).

10/10 if you're willing to spend the time it takes to master the basics.

It's all about the journey, not the destination.

Patience is rewarded.

Hint: If you have an Nvidia card, updating to latest driver results in a big improvement.

Smooth on 1060/i7 combo.

9/10 would kill Sean Bean again.

Where to start?

Wow!

For someone who got bored to death by Elder Scrolls (after 150h in all fairness), and usually equally bored with anything turn based (Total War I'm looking at you) - this game is an epic eye opener.

The game is so immersive, one plays for hours on end. Completely open ended, you'll end up doing 10 things on the way to do the one thing you intended to do. Nothing is lost with the experience, everything is connected within the story without ever feeling overburdening - and everything you do is your own choice.

Game achieves perfect balance between real time and turn based. The turn based combat turns fighting into a majestic game of chess, every move is of paramount importance - where so many other RPGs are mostly a major clickathon and not that much more at the end of the day. When not fighting you are completely free to explore and tinker as you please in real time.

Leveling up is a thrill, without ever feeling like a grind. Finding the perfect sword has become an obsession.

Slightly hard to get used to the UI, but after a few hours you'll be amazed with the fluidity of it all. And the way the devs made this all easily accessible using a controller is nothing short of a miracle.

Split screen is a hidden gem, works like a charm - making this one of the best games to enjoy with a mate or partner. When players are nearby to each other the screens merge seamlessly, and vice versa. With the option to force split screen if you so please.

PS - Realised after a while my GF was stealing most of the best loot - make sure they share :)

Note: From what I've read, you'll need two controllers to enjoy split screen, one controller and keyboard mouse combo will not work.

Still busy with first playthrough - looking forward to many many more hours. And another playthrough after that for sure.

40ish hours in and nothing feels repetitive or boring, still learning new things every time I get into this title.

Pretty looking game, runs smooth as butter on i7 and gtx1060.

LATER EDIT:

I've never finished a game before, I finished this one twice.

11/10 highly recommended.

Love Strategy, but turn based has got you bored to death?

Tired of the same old warfare?

Like to think a bit and apply that brain?

Not keen on those 100+ hour skirmish games?

Buy this game while it is on sale, you will not regret it.

Only con:

Really struggle to find multiplayer games.

Game plays fine on a 1060/I7.

Stunning graphics and fun grind.

Connection issues currently, but yet to crash out of a multiplayer quest.

Looking forward to many many more hours.

Follow up after 85H played:

Finished the campaign, this is literally the best game I've ever played on PC. And even though campaign is done, feels like the game is just beginning. So much still to do!

The graphics is in this game, are top notch. Still experiencing 'Woooow' moments after 85h of gameplay.

The design of this title is a masterpiece, and the thinking that went into it in order to make it a pleasant gaming experience is fantastic. All the little details that create perfection.

The final boss - oh my ****!

Did experience a few connection issues, small impact on gameplay.

Experienced a few laggy spots on boss levels, also small impact on overall gameplay. This is not CSGO, you'll get over it.

Still hands down recommend this title - just buy it already.

PS - if anyone has spare Vaal Hazak fangs - be my friend xD

I love strategy games.

From the days of age of empires and red alert. However previous encounters with turn based strategy games have been brief - found them slow and for the most part boring.

Xcom however is a beauty. And the mods make it limitless. So much fun, the pressure is always on.

Sure there some glitches, and lag on the cut scenes.

However I definitely reccomend this game, grab it while on special!
