I love strategy games.

From the days of age of empires and red alert. However previous encounters with turn based strategy games have been brief - found them slow and for the most part boring.

Xcom however is a beauty. And the mods make it limitless. So much fun, the pressure is always on.

Sure there some glitches, and lag on the cut scenes.

However I definitely reccomend this game, grab it while on special!

Edit 11/2018: No players online, devs disappeared. Changing review from recommended to not recommended. What a pity! Will update again if anything changes.

Really enjoying this game!

Personally don't like PUBG that much - thought that was the end in terms of BR for me - but damn ION has revived the genre for me.

Playing on a i7/GTX 1060 combo the game is smoothAF, and IMO runs better than PUBG.

Playing from South Africa on EU servers is a pleasurable experience, and the game is definitely playable and lots of fun - but damn would we like a few servers (HINT HINT - ION CAN LITERALLY OWN THE BR GENRE IN AFRICA IF THEY DO).

Devs have patched twice in one week, if they keep it up this beauty is going to become a legend.

What I like:

1. Very good looking game.
2. Very well optimised EA title.
3. Games are quick.
4. Games are funAF.
5. Music is lit.
6. Competitive potential and leaderboards are epic.
7. Awesome Devs - keep it up.
8. Finding a game is a quick piece of cake.
9. Training grounds is a nice nice to have.
10. Pre arena waiting period is almost as fun as the game.
11. Never a dull moment - you PUBG players who camp in a closet gonna die soon.
12. Skill and brains are required.
13. Did I mention the sexy graphix?

Completely understand game is EA (and a majestic one at that) but few small issues I have noticed for the sake of improving the game:

1. Charactor customisation in terms of weapons don't appear on main menu, and neither can friends see them in lobby.
2. Loading screen, although brief, has no loading icon - so sometimes leaves you wondering if game might be stuck (though hasn't happened yet).
3. Items from store rounded to 6 decimal places? LOL
4. Bunny hopping faster than running? It's about that rabbit life for now.
5. And guess what? Other gripes were fixed in Hotfix 1.2!

Can't wait to play many many more hours of ION, see you in the arena!

Don't let the graphics fool you, this game is more addictive than KFC dunked wings sprinkled with crack cocaine.

Great game, still much left to do.

Runs smoothly on ULTRA GTX 1060.

Suspense is never ending.

Personally like the graphics, the art and all the attention to detail.

Definitely worth a try.

It's like an Android game, but on PC - and with worse graphics.

Can't game online, LL can't locate it's own profile.

Nice concept somewhere in between everything else.

Plays like PUBG - but worse.

The Forest is what you always wanted Minecraft to be, and then some.

Game keeps getting better.

I'm an FPS player through and through, but always had a soft spot for strategy thinking back to Red alert and AOE days - so decided to give this game a go.

Small learning curve but the AI assistant is on point - one quickly gets into this game with no grand strategy experience.

The more I play the more I enjoy, this game is a lot of fun. And contains other dimensions that RA or AOE never had.

So if you miss Red Alert or AIR and you're looking for something newer - this game is worth your money.

Go out and conquer!

Best graphics ever for a fighter game.

So many combinations, so much to learn.

Smooth running on a GTX1060.

Single player much of fun.

Online even more fun.

Definitely worth a try!

If you like skryim, this is more of that.

Quests are scalable to your level, most can be done with mates regardless of level which is great.

Pretty looking game.

Most fun is to be had with friends.

Worth a try.
