9/10
GPU: Amd Radeon rx 7800 xt 16gb
Ram: 32GB
CPU: 12th gen i5-12600K 3.7ghz

Ok, I'm running a high end rig so I've had no issues with stability. The game's needed to compile 10K shader files before each of my sessions so far. I'm running most settings on High but I've heard Lumen Global illumination isn't optimized well. Turn that off and you'll get lots of fps. I'm on amd and FSR does its job. It does manage to run (w/ my rig) up to 144fps, on a 144hz monitor, but as I said turn off Lumen, Shadows, Lighting, Effects to medium, turn on v-sync cause unoptimized games CAN run to the max fps possible even if its not optimized. THERE IS NO VRAM METER IN GRAPHICS SETTINGS! KNOW YOUR RIG, AND MIN SPECS!

^^I get the feeling this is the benchmark the devs made the game for, but MIN SPECS FOR THIS ARE:::
Min: amd radeon rx 480 / gtx 1060 6GB
Rec: amd radeon rx 6750 (HAS 12 GB VRAM) / rtx 3060 (ALSO 12GB VRAM!)
Shader model: 6
Min Ded. Vram: 3GB (rec. 8 vram)
Min cpu: amd ryzen 5 2600 / i7-4790 3.6ghz 4core
Min Ram: 16gb (rec. ALSO 16GB)

I AM NOT a seasoned KF1, KF2 gamer. This is my first KF and I'm enjoying it so I AM NOT experiencing the rose-tinted Nostalgia others are ranting about on reviews.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GUNPLAY, WEAPON SOUNDS, SATISFYING RECOIL AND ANIMATIONS: 9/10
+Sounds as good as bf1, modern cod.

SOLO GAMPLAY: I enjoyed Normal. Very Manageable. Hard seems to be where Zeds start Running at you earlier and Meleeing them becomes difficult. Hell on Earth -- I havent tried it yet but I'm sure its possible with a meta loadout.

6-PLAYER CO-OP: VERY FUN.

GAMEPLAY LOOP: Repetitive, but it is VERY FUN since you have several classes to upgrade, several guns to upgrade, great sounds of the weapons, zeds, and good graphics.

MAPS: Good Variety

ASSIGNMENTS FOR PERKS, PROGRESSION: You got DAILIES, WEEKLIES, MISSIONS, and ACHIEVEMENTS like get to this level with Medic for bonus Systempass XP, Kill this many Zeds for ...XP. etc.

ZEDS: Seems to have SOME of the same Zeds from older Zeds. No pigface. No rednecks with banjos. If that stops you buying the game though... pft. Purists. Enjoy life like adults. Sacrifices, tradeoffs, but use your voices. Freedom of speech keeps things alive - not moping like doomsday speakers.

CODEX: Has a codex that describes Zeds, their strengths, weaknesses, damage types, crafting materials, which Zeds frop which crafting materials. It's like an ingame manual which is a plus.

WOKENESS: IT IS NOT WOKE!

DIALOGUE: IS CRINGEY! But you can turn VO Volume to zero and it saves the game.

CLASSES:
NINJA: ------------ Subzero-face with swords, kunais, and a bow
SHARPSHOOTER: - Cybernetic Lady with 50 cal Barrett, Carbines, Revolver
ENGINEER: -------- Exosuit Beared Soldier with Shotguns, Nade launcher, Flamethrower
MEDIC: ------------ Brutha with an Mp7, Mp5, Zarya Laser with a Healing Laser mode, and a FO Laser Rifle
FIREBUG: ---------- Tracer with Incendiary weapons. Dragon's Breath Shotty, DB Smg, 2 Flamethrowers
COMMANDO: ----- TFS Spy with Gasmask with ARs like a Scar, and LMGs.

CROSS-CLASS WEAPON LOADOUT EXPERIMENTATION: You CAN use weapons from other classes in your loadouts. There are 30 Weapons in total which aren't class locked so you can be a sword-wielding Sniper in the endgame, or a Lmg wielding medic, or a Biolaser wielding Firebug. Matches have 6 waves as far as I know.

WAVE-BASED SURVIVAL GAMEMODE: Still there.

+not fortnite-ified... yet.
+not p2w... first "warbond" pass has skins and playercards only
+not call of duty... yet.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BAD THINGS DEVELOPERS NEED TO KNOW ARE BAD AND TURN US OFF::
-It has a Helldivers 2 battlepass system (looks exactly like it; has an initial free one with SOME free unlocks but YOU SHOULD be able to play it without unlocking any future Systempasses. YOUVE BEEN WARNED!)

-It has a cash shop(the game is fun without this and the battlepasses so Idk why they dont have faith in their game's design)

CONCLUSION::
So yeah.
9/10. Atm. As of July 27, 2025.
I'd give a 10 - but I dont have good voiceover dialogue from the heroes, or a cash-shopless wave fps shooter.
They're annoying to have in the game.
Hopefully y'all can make an informed purchasing decision based on this review with all the review bombs posted. I can dissect this WEEKS in advanced if gamers need updated details if need strikes us.

It's a good Vampire Survivors clone.
Has skill trees, several characters, 3d characters, enemies, and effects.
I haven't tried the endless and hardcore modes you are given once you finish a basic run.
I'm only 2.7 hours in, with 4 characters unlocked, a few skills leveled in the universal skill tree involving boosting pickup range, overall damage, and # of soulstones you pickup as you defeat enemies.

The game has potential to offer a few hundred hours of content atm through its progression.
8-9/10 Vamp Survivors Clone.

THIS is the new Vampire Survivors!
It's ROBOCRAFT SURVIVORS and the potential for your voxel vehicle deathmachine builds are very limitless!

If you love Old Robocraft, you'll love this.
If you love Vampire Survivors, you'll respect how the progression and graphics are in this. Wonderful Design.

10/10 - A MUST-Play for any gamer who loves addictive idle, clicker, deck-building, bullet hell, or just hectic combat games without any ingame cash-shop!
This review is based only on the demo and I see only success in this game's future.
I love this game.

This is not call of dooty.
This is not Modern Battlefield.
This is sort of Battlefield 1942 and Squad combined. Moreso Squad than classic class-based BF. Classes require grinding for 1 or 2 new loadouts. The loadouts can look like this:

Level 1 Support class for Germany: Kar98K, Grenades, Supply pack(for Engineers to build fortifications, and outposts and Garrison spawns), 2 Bandages
Level 2 Support: MP40, Supply pack, ammo pack, explosive ammo pack (for Anti-Tank classes refilling rocket launcher ammo)
Level 3 Support: Flamethrower weapon (across Germany, USA, Russia) + Idk

The weapons aren't customizable, like bf1942. It's very simple and that's all you need. Voip, teamwork, and simple classes and a few loadouts each to unlock.

You'll love this if you're into older FPS games, teamwork through voip, and realistic firefights. 1 stray bullet can kill you. There are no killcams so you must watch your back and stay OUT of open spaces. Snipers could be flanking as play an objective. The game rewards smart players. 9.5/10 so far. I'm only level 20 and my only complaint is some players are... noobs, and play like cod players. It's not a race, it's about tactics.

I've played 7 and 8 and the other Remakes.

7 IS BETTER THAN 8. Here's why:

-7 maintains it's horror elements
-It has classic re claustrophobic level design. Walking through corridors. Avoiding zombies. Collecting puzzle pieces. It's all okay but the level designs and full game felt too short to me.

Simply for these reasons, I like it more than 8.
8 had mainly action that made me want to play 4R or 4 the whole time.
8's horror is tied to 1 boss.
8 had Mercs and more unlockables but it's not worth playing for everything. It got repetitive fast.
8 had larger level designs - but that made fights less scary while the action wasn't good enough to compare with 4R or even 3R.

RE4R > RE2R > RE7 > RE3R > RE8.
I haven't played CV, 0, Rev1, Rev2, RE5, or RE6.
Planning on trying RE5, and RE6 at the time of this review. I've never played the classics on the old Playstations, gamecube, n64(were they on it? idk. I was an og xbox 2000s kid growing up.), and 360, ps3.
So far though - RE's had some good games.

I've played 1 (halfway through), RE2R, 3R, 4R, 7, and Vill.
----------------

4R is the best one. 4 might be worth it if you've played the classic ones - you can mod it on pc for qoL perks.
2R is the next best one. 2R is very true to 2's mix of horror and action - moreso 2 is a horror re game.
3R was too short.
7 was the 3rd best one. Also short. First person. Bosses were terrible. Ai and traps got predictable. Fun side gamemodes.

8 worse than 3R imo.
Vill-age had lame bosses. 1 boss restricted to ALL the horror elements of re; kinda lame. Rest of the game is action-oriented. Puzzles were easy. The unlockable weapons were lame other than the LS. I won't spoil the LS. You care enough? Then look it up. It's the only weapon to play for.
---------------------

4R > 2R > 7 > 3R > 8.
---------------------------
Planning on playing 5 and 6 and then 4 og atm.
Not sure about Revelations 1 + Rev2. Don't care. I want to play the main story games first before side stories and prequels, then I may play 0, Rev1,2, CV.

The controls are better than the Og RE2 experience, but some would say it makes it less scarier and much easier. That's a good thing if you never played it on the old Playstations. I love this version and it, RE4R, and RE4 OG all are probably the easiest and most engaging Resident Evil games to try out.

RE 7 and RE VIII are both new takes on the gameplay, and the attention to detail in some of the world design is great but at times there have been ugly textures in those. The story in both 7 and 8 aren't that great either.

So far, I'd say: Try 2R, 4R, 4 ... then try 3, 2, 1R ... 0, 1, 2, Code Veronica .... then try out the lesser popular ones: 3R, 5 and 6, then/ or after 7 and 8
Gog is also releasing a remastered version of the original 1, 2, 3 games, optimized for PC players.

Friday, Oct 18, 2024:
(27 missions in - co-op[DONE] heavy mechs[DONE] and assault mechs[DONE], Sim Pod Mission Adv Challenges [Not Done, Sort of NG+ but no story - just challenges with old missions, current mechs, money, xp?]) (Overall: Campaign is good near the end but the voiceacting is annoying until youre given a decision to make)
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
If I could rate MW5: Clans - I'd give it a 7/10.
-1 for bad voice acting and narrative. Skippable. Gameplay makes up imho.
-1.5 for clunky console controls and Ui. Needs Mod Support.
-0.5 Isn't optimized well. As I'd expect from PGI but please my 3070 is getting fps drops like crazy in battle.

It is quite replayable. You can really gimp your team if you focus on specific weapons and mech builds you want throughtout your campaign runs.

TL/DR:
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
It has MechWarrior and MechAssault-like settings to make the game appeal to both PC sim gamers and Console arcade gamers.

The game does appeal more to a casual experience though. Yet, it has an RTS mode you toggle between which makes it different than MW5:Mercs. Classic MechCommander Gold and 2 fans will be happy.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I'll list the perks and cons Clans has from Mercs here:

CONS////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
- The Mechlab doesn't let you remove engines, reassign armor or structure,
- The Mechlab is like MechCommander (very modular, but many components are locked and can't be removed or replaced.)
- The cockpit "headbob" is ridiculously bouncey (some people like it, I used to, but not so much anymore)
- The narrative cutscenes have terrible voice acting
- Ingame combat dialogue voice acting is terrible
- The dialogue is HEAVILY reliant on exposition for people unaware of the lore. They explain it ALL to you making you feel disconnected as just a new gamer to the MW/Battletech universe.
- Ingame UI is very clunky and BIG. (It needs a scaling feature)
- The game only gives you 16 clan mechs to obtain in the basegame (That's very limited. You can't use the Inner sphere mechs. Would be an interesting game mode/ alternate campaign to play as the IS Pirates or IS factions that fight you later in dlcs I guess. But atm it's not in.)
- Intelligence given during briefings are just cinematic and very basic. You could face a "boss" enemy (has only ever happened in Mechassault games) which can only be taken down with long range weapons - but that intel won't be divulged to you to begin with. Annoying.
- You could perhaps avoid an objective or waypoint because you found a faster way to avoid a patrol but the game will not let you progress until you activate a "meet at the river" obj before the "scan bases along river" obj unlocks. Annoying. Penalized for being a smart player avoiding a patrol along that river by jumping along the cliffs.
- There is no Online PVP Feature. The devs at PGI have reserved that for MW: Online. Download that in the meantime before they hopefully plan for MW: Online 2?

POSSIBLE TWEAKS NEEDED/ BUGS:///////////////////////////////////
- Bug right now: YOU CAN'T BIND A KEY INDEFINITELY ATM. It was in last update but now keys are only rebindable. I don't use every key tbh so binding keys to BACKSLASH cause I won't need it is clunky. PGI? Please fix that. I need to clear/ empty bindings at will.
- In the RTS drone view, you can't order your Star to move past 1000 m from your mech. That's very limited. If your mech gets heavily damaged cause you're using a CQC build - you kinda have to a "short dog leash" effect with your team scouting ahead and sharing their armor. Let us tell them to move with a chain of "Go Here" commands so we don't have to keep switching to Command View. This game could be a great RTS/FPS game if tPGI boosts that range to 2000+ meters.
- Bug where your Control binds get reset if you enter somebody else's savegame with their progress instead of your own.
- Bug where if you change a mech loadout ingame, in a co-op game, if someone else if looking at that mech or customizing it, they will have their changes reset. Only 1 person should be editing a mech at a time, people afterwards should be viewing the mechs. It's kinda like looking at a Google Drive document with multiple users viewing it. It's chaotic if you don't say what you're saving.

PERKS/PROS://////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
+ The game lets you, as the star commader, have MechCommander RTS command controls where you can toggle in and out of your cockpit to a drone view to give directional orders to your Star (4 other team mates)
+ The weapon sounds are arguably better
+ The footstep sounds are better
+ Co-op is supposed to be a advertised feature. Perhaps progress carries over if you play in someone's save game. (I'LL EDIT THIS SOON. I NEED TO TEST CO-OP LATER THIS WEEK.)
+ The Expert difficulty mode is hard, but rewards you for playing cautiously and with the RTS commands in use.
+ Controller friendly (Using the Modern control scheme for anyone on a console.)
+ There is a voice volume slider so you can cut out the voice acting.
+ The mechlab is a bit like X-COM's antfarm view where you manage Technicians to repair mechs, Scientists for researching modules, Level up Pilots, and Buy and Sell mechs, weapons, and equipment.
+ The price wasn't $90-$100 CAD as some AAA games are. It was $60 when I purchased it which I'm glad to see. Just for the basegame to be clear. Games should use $60 CAD as a benchmark for AAA development. Most companies can't even pull off or justify $90 basegame pricing anymore so lower your prices publishers.
+ Co-Op is 5 players (typically a Clan Star) and Ai fills in the players that aren't present.
+ Co-Op does affect the Host's save game file. I don't think it changes your save file. There might be an opportunity to give some benefits to joining players that return to their save games like a "Past experience buff", but I'm fine with it just affecting the host's game only.
+ Co-Op is much more enjoyable than in Singleplayer. The bots can be so stupid that you must use RTS commands to keep them from walking to their deaths.

CONCLUSION:
Wait for a Sale -or-
Wait for Mechlab and UI mods to release -or-
Buy if you love MechCommander RTS controls, MW, or just MechAssault console games in general
Don't Buy if you really love MW5: Mercs - Clans is very barebones atm and the story is laughable to listen to.

MW5: Clans is a hybrid MW game that aims to be casual which has made some Mech sim features seeming clunky. If you want a more PC friendly MW game - buy MW5: Mercs and mod it. Want Online PVP? See MW: Online. Want to find Classic MW games? Look for MW2, MW3, MW4, MCGold, MC2, and MWLL online as you might find fan support for those games still.

Michael Scott will hunt you down and make Dwight read the Declaration of Independence to you 50 times over if you don't buy the game.

Also, Jim works at Dale & Dawson's now.
