Many will describe Everhood as a quirky little game that takes you on a trip, and I cannot tell you how true that is.

A short game worth it's price tag.

The meat of the game is in the survival tower, with the apx 30min campaign being a tutorial of how your equipment works and interacts with the environment. Combat is responsive and punishes you for making a incorrect choice of weapon due to swing speeds. My only downside to this game is length because I am a sucker for the GBC Era style graphics and wanted more game.

I wish Peppino would beat me until I lost all memory of this game so I can play it fresh again.

Despite friends watching it and immediately assuming "bunny girl porn game", it is a legitimately fun combo of shmup and metroidvania. There are some nuanced techniques available for combo extensions and sequence breaking galore(you can actually do almost all of the side story before getting to the "main hub town"). The game even pokes fun at itself at times and the humor is there too.

This is a game that should be played with only co-op in mind. It will amuse you heavily if you're into comedic bro-op games. There are some aspects that aren't for everyone since some find skeletons spooky(Looking at you SKULLMAGEDDON), but you can beat them up and over come your fears. And beat up your co-op partner. Or throw them off cliffs. Or launch them with catapults. Or spinkick them to death in your frenzied state of "CRUSH ABOBO WITH KICKS".

All-in-all, a fun short game for a quick laugh in co-op with a friend.
