A shining beacon above other FTP games.

This game has its problems; bugs that can kill your run, disorienting levels (particularly the first set), and a lack of content compared to other roguelikes. However, I feel the gameplay carries the experience pretty far. The retro shooter charm is definitely there and allows for both aggressive and patient playstyles. There are also some rather elaborate easter eggs to find. Worth the pick-up on sale.
