This game is a blast! Kind of sad to see it getting review bombed so hard. I will say, if you have a potato computer, this game is not for you.

I got this game to play with a friend on launch. Had some lag issues but fixed it by changing the quality to medium. Co-op is extremely fun but its not as seamless as promised. 7 hours in and we've only run into two fog walls the summoned player couldn't go through. Summoned players will respawn with you rather than going to their home world, and they make no story progress while in your world. While it seems like you can both 100% the game without leaving the hosts world, you aren't able to pick up any of the unique armor or weapons inside of chests if you are a summoned player. You also cant change your armor color while in someones world.

This game sucks

A good game that I'd recommend overall, but it has one or two downsides:

Pros:

Incredibly in-depth armor system with well made and functional armor that works in a moderately realistic and plausible way.

Mild randomization to make each journey a little more interesting

decent character creation screen with enough options to make a unique look

The combat system, while somewhat janky because its physics based, is one of the most appealing and fun aspects of the game. You have to use a variety of weapons to figure out what works for you. And once you get used to it fighting individual encounters is relatively easy.

Cons:

Perma death. While it saves your character customization, all of your armor and weapons are gone. Which can be absolutely infuriating if you spend 2+ hours walking in a maze gathering equipment only to get tapped in the head at the wrong time and end up dead.

The game is very slow. Spending hours repeating the same thing over and over again when you fail, it is incredibly unforgiving. While not a bad thing for everyone, particularly those who enjoy a huge challenge, it was enough to exhaust me.

A terrific amount of mods for you and your friends to create a truly unique gameplay experience. Plus, its free, so why not make your game into a more unique experience?
