game deserves more attention. yes it's a porn game but it's also a very well designed, simple point and click adventure game with great art.

This game is not RuneScape. You have now read practically half of the negative reviews after that sentence. It's relaxing and enjoyable. Solid 8/10. I hope they make the different zone combat skills feel more unique from one another though.

This game is just not finished. it seems to have the features but it's lacking all of the polish of a full-release game. this is like an Early Access release.

a few problems off the top of my head:

-missing sound effects for many things
-music cuts between songs, not even a fade-out+in??
-fps is rarely above 40(and I'm using a 3060Ti)
-the animations are sluggish and just *UGLY* this needs a huge second pass
-when riding your bike the mini-map stops tracking your facing direction and just freezes. you can't even access the map while riding your bike! this is a MAJOR oversight. I'm sure this will be fixed but as of launch this just sucks.

the good:
-I found out you can try to bunny hop and fall off your bike and it's reeeeally funny, so that's about $10 of value at least.


I'll gladly change this review after a few strong optimization updates at least

EDIT MONTHS LATER: it seems the devs are already making a different game. this game keeps its status as a bugged up piece of junk. do not buy.

Spent $30 for an MMORPG, and then they made it a DLC and stopped working on it while it was still in early access. it was already janky and buggy as ♥♥♥♥ and they've already moved on from it to focus on some f2p seasonal crap.

they decided to separate the MMO into its own dlc so I'm double dipping on negative reviews. give me my money back

I bought an MMORPG in development for $30. They decided to stop making an MMORPG and instead make a free to play seasonal thing with a cosmetic MTX shop. ♥♥♥♥ you.

MapleStory used to be a very charming and lovable MMO, but now it is more interested in having dailies and limited time events and items, with many of those items expiring to make you want to keep logging in to use them. MapleStory wants you to play every single day and is terrified to let you explore without having your hand aggressively held.
If there were another 2D side-scrolling MMORPG like it, I would recommend you play it, but there isn't. Only play if you miss the nostalgia and don't want to find a private server running an older version.

This early access game is more fleshed out and complete than most early access games are when they release 1.0.
If you like city builders and roguelites, this is a must have for sure.

Jagex cares more about making money off of pay-2-win whales than making a functional video game
