When I was young my brother would always complain "why do you keep making new sims files over and over again just to design the house and then not actually play it?" Now I have a game where all I do is decorate a house over and over again, and I'm very pleased.

This game was made for me, cleaning and designing the house is very satisfying. I would only recommend the DLC on sale or if you're lucky like me--from humblebundle, most of it is really overpriced but it's nice to have if you can grab it.

If you're this deep into the series, are you even still checking reviews? Anyways this chapter stands out in my heart as one of my absolute favorites, even though it's been more than 10 years since I first witnessed the scene on the rooftop, I still cried when reading it again. In an already good series, this chapter stands as my all time favorite even now.

Can't get distracted by steam games during study sessions if steam is already running a game... (taps forehead)

If you enjoy lofi streams and wanted to design your own lofi person this is basically that, you can add background sounds, change the outfit, decorate the space, change the time of day or activity and just chill out. The little pets are very cute, and its very cozy if you love a little background study/reading/etc. noise.

I like the fantasy of farming more than I actually garden, and boy howdy this fulfills it nicely. There's a lot of flexibility in how you decide to approach tasks and money-making so that it's hard to get bored, and when you're done with that there's mods. It's an excellent game with lots of variety and lots to enjoy.

If you liked stardew valley and wished it had a longer fantasy oriented storyline and way more dungeons and combat, you should get this game and accidentally completely misplace an entire weekend like I did 10/10. The characters are charming, it's better than ever on PC with all the DLC and the scaling up still manages to look sharp and the gameplay is just as addictive as ever.

It's a decent and very nostalgic JRPG but its age is definitely showing, and while it has its moments replaying it as an adult makes its flaws seem much more apparent than they were when I was a kid.

For one it's just... too long winded, especially in the latter part of the game. I had so much energy in part 1 and the initial part of part 2 but by the time you hit the ending it's like... "oh man ANOTHER dungeon?" The combat is also really repetitive and a little clunky feeling compared to more streamlined games later on. You can play as characters besides Lloyd but then it begs the question "Why would you" when I gave it a try to see if I could earn some titles and unlock stuff. Unskippable cutscenes mean I don't think I would get anything out of new game+ and considering how much I loved the game as a kid, it saddens me a little to give it the thumbs down, but I just have different wants and needs from a game now than I did when I was 8.

Pros:
Nostalgic, decent story, enjoyable memorable characters, bright and colorful

Cons:
repetitive battle strategies, story drags near the end of the game, more convoluted than I remember it being, game drags itself on too long on some plot threads that are just not very exciting or fun tbh.

I get why I liked symphonia as a kid, and I don't blame people for liking it now but as far as ported oldie JRPGs go, this one just feels old and sluggish when compared to some of the re-releases of recent.

...So stories with plots are supposed to have a kind of momentum, oh what's the word we're looking for... right. PACING. And the pace of this story is on par with watching paint on an anime body pillow dry.

The art is extremely pretty, every still frame looks as though it could've come from an animated movie. The music is grand and languid, and... well... I came here for an end of the world love story. The love story... did not grab me. It felt creepy and strange, and characters prattle on and on about the least interesting things possible in a story that has such a potentially good set up.

If you want a vn that will bring your emotions on a roller coaster of highs and lows and make you truly feel for the characters, their tragedy, their story, this is not that vn.

It's alright. As a visual novel, it's pretty to look at, sounds good, looks good, and offers some insight into the background characters present in the second vn of the series. A series I at one point endlessly endorsed and was happy to indulge in.

However.

the clear disorganization from the development side is beyond disappointing at this point. I enjoyed fault milestone... I enjoyed fault milestone close to seven years ago. Since it seems in high likelihood the series will not be finished ever, I'm no longer recommending alice in dissonance visual novels for the time being as many of them currently just end on cliffhangers, and we can expect no resolution to occur.
