Worse pay to win system.

After getting the original Next Car Game/Wreckfest on release it feels great it play in a new engine after 8 years.

I'd ignore negative reviews regarding the lack of content on release as the original title had a similar release and got better with each update. Unlike big developers who release rubbish, steal your money and move onto the next scam, these guys actually have some passion when created this game and in 2025 it's industry leading as far as a Wreck Racing game goes and probably 2nd to only BeamNG for the soft body physics in destruction.

There is a lack of features and modes on release sure, but the base game at it's core feels fantastic, and unlike AAA titles, there's no microtransactions with a fully functioning store like what Call of Duty or NBA 2K would have in a code bugged game offering the most generic waste of your time just to release a new title next year.

I'm sure it didn't read well but I can't care, great foundation for the new Wreckfest game and I'm sure I will sink another 1k hours in this over the coming years and look forward to being apart of the development process once again.

Initial impressions are very positive. The graphics, stability, story, didn't require a major update on release was awesome.

Will come back to update details as I'm only a few hours in, but everything has been positive so far.

Some of the best gaming memories are from playing this game the initial 6 months it released on steam in 2017. Skitz, Blank, Dank, Nicoos and the lads playing div 1 in OCE. xoxo

Love the new engine and keen on the Modders to get all the BR, DayZ, RP and the rest all sorted for Arma 4 launch.

edit: I would have 10x the hours played if i didn't keep getting booted off the server...

2k peaked with 2k10 and 2k11, ever since then it'd been trash and hasn't actually evolved AT ALL. I tried 2k12, then 2k15 and they were both horrible as the pay to win microtransations were in full effect.

I wanted to like 2k21 as my favourite player Damian Lillard is on the cover but the only noteable good thing about this game is the sound track, which was still better on 2k10 and 2k11.

My opinion purely comes from the My Player (My Career) experience where we get yet again, less player options than the games 10 years ago and another cheesy unrelateable story line that makes you hate your own guy. Why would I expect this game to actually improve after all these years. There is no tutorial, you can't change the fkn camera, you can't practise and try out different jump shots, then you miss everything and play bad cos thats all thats designed to happen so you spend $$$ on VC to have fun.

I'm done 2k, you were dead to be already but now I won't consider another game from you again.

Love it! It is what it is and it does it well! I've missed this void in gaming since the original Destruction Derby games on the first Playstaton. Online is great with controlled and random troll lobbies, clean or wreck racing. It shoudl cater to anyone wanting a fun arcade style car wreaking game, highly recommend.

Only recommendation i would make would be - ability to edit vehicles when you're in an online lobby already inbetween races, and introduce a track map, with so many tracks having similar layouts its easy to get confused with which way you're going.

In Australia we have 1 active lobby every night... 1 that fills up.. this game needs to be cheaper to get more poeple into it. It is too expensive at $45 USD should be $20 USD.

The game is fantastic and pointed in the right direction.

My only gripe is that i've been waiting for a Left handed visual so I can play the game with friends who need to see the in game character that way. Hopefully it's on the way, and then i will pump some hours in against them.

2 years later still no Left handed players...

Awesome game, the devs took Rust and threw in Dinosours and made it even better! Not the same devs i know but i haven't played Rust (which i really enjoyed) once i started playing this. It's got so many more levels of fun especially if you have friends playing. It's difficult solo if you're being griefed or if the server is run by chinese players, but my friends play the ♥♥♥♥ outta this game and we are the big dogs on a server now, chinese are KOS... everyone else is cool.

I got it free, and still want a refund.
