Great fun little game, good with friends.

Needs something for the dead players to do, maybe things to assist with the next mission or have the ability to control some parts of the ship or organise trades / bid on things or something.

Some of the interiors could do with a little more variation or themed areas, like travelling to a sewer location at the bottom of the staircases or something.

All early access and i hope this turns out to be a cracking game when finished, all the effort and care is very well appreciated and the dev has really pulled this off. Great job, you are very talented!

I love the old game so much, I'd ♥♥♥♥ it if i got the chance.

This remake is even better than the original.

I want to marry the remake. It's that damn good.

I'm usually very picky when it comes to games, I also have been told how great certain VR games are, only to try them and find out that by todays VR standards, they are rather sucky. In most VR games, movement is clunky and things are not quite right.

I'm glad to say that Wanderer does not make these mistakes. It has all the modern features of a VR game in 2022. Wrist items, locomotion modes, snap turning and item interactivity. On a VR level, it's like playing any other game like HL Alyx, TWD S&S etc.

I'll try to keep this as spoiler free as possible.

To start out, Wanderer can feel a little odd. I didn't really like the intro, especially the 'battle' that occurs on the boat. I found it to be fustrating and my aim wasn't good enough to progress as quick as the game wanted me to. I also seem to have gotten bugged out in the early part of the game, where a voice clip wouldn't play to open a door, however I didnt lose too much progress by restarting the game. You have to be patient with the intro, until you get to the apartment. Then everything clicks.

Puzzles are very challenging to begin with until you start to REALLY use your wrist watch. Once you 'jump' you'll start to understand what the game is about. How you operate and how you travel, solve puzzles etc. This is not a linear game in the sense that you just "walk from time period to time period" - its more like you do have an intended linear route, but you are in control of where you go and what you do with your items, inventory and time periods. You don't just progress through a series of levels one after another with loading screens, you make your own path and travel to these locations.

The story unfolds very well, and is very enjoyable to experience. I haven't finished it yet but I sunk a lot of time into it this evening and I'm VERY pleased with the game. I've wanted a great VR game to enjoy and the Wanderer is absolutely filling this gap.

The game is very impressive for a studio that I've never heard of before. If you have the money, like single player games and fancy a story driven puzzle adventure - then get it. If you do not like puzzles, you may not like this game. I would reccomend it. I recently tried 'Red Matter' which I was told was a great story / puzzle game and it was high on a lot of VR lists, however Wanderer is a modern and unique adventure that I'm pleased to own and experience. I wish I didn't waste my money on the older VR titles that don't stack up to todays expectations. If you are new to VR, this is a great starting point for how immersive they can be.

Very nice work by the team, thank you for such a great experience.

UPDATE

This has been posted AFTER completing the game.

So i got stuck at one point, i thought I had a game breaking bug which seemed like I was missing an item, when really one of the vials just wasnt showing that it was 'full' and looked empty. This definatly hurt my experience because it made me feel like I had to lose a chunk of progress. I managed to push on and was able to complete the game. Here are a few things that I found.

Puzzles. There are some 'light' puzzles that are actually like MineSweeper puzzles, they suck. I did not enjoy them one bit and I had to about 3 or 4 of them in very close succession. Did not enjoy.

I also found that once you had experienced most of the time travel events and was able to 'complete' them that it felt like the story kind of just fizzled out. For example, I was super excited to see the Moon Landing again after it was 'fixed' but having to stop to find a flag, and manufacture a pole really killed the experience.

It felt like sometimes, the game just threw in a puzzle for the sake of doing so or adding extra time. I would have much preferred some puzzles to be cut and resulted in a shorter and more enjoyable game.

The ending wasnt great, as It doesn't give you much of a sense of closure. I'd probably still check out a sequel if one was made.

Still recommend this game, but not an absolute must buy. The puzzles do feel like they get in the way more than they help progress the story. Have you ever tried coming out of VR to lookup videos, guides etc for puzzles? It's not very fun, at all. Everytime I got stuck, I had to bring myself out of the game to lookup a solution that made me feel 'oh, really, I have to do THAT?'

Play Left4Dead2 instead. AI is not very good, Specials are forgettable yet confusing at the same time. Multiplayer is crap.

Only reason i have so many hours in this is because I'm using it for level design study.

Very talented team of staff, a survival game which is much more enjoyable to play than other games, such as DayZ. Very well developed engine and very functional. I can't wait for more updates and features. Worth the price for the current patch #36

So simple, environments look basic but you'll be so involved in the game your mind will fill in where you think you are and what you think you see. Once the controls are familiar and the gun is adjusted to be the same level of your nose, its very fun!

Impressive, definatley worth the price.

A little boring once you've fallen over a few times, gets to the point where you cant really be bothered doing long levels at this tedious pace. Worth getting if its ever on sale at 60-70% of its original price but not worth the full price.

LAUNCH IMPRESSIONS

For someone who appreciates a good, well designed game, this is not the game for you. This is a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ which has had too much over-appreciation. If this was any other game it would get slated. I'll come back when the alpha & Beta is over and then see what this game is like because at the moment its current state is affecting the impression for all players of the final product and i strongly believe it wont change any further than it is already at the moment. It will still be the same core experience but with hundreds of addons.

0.55 IMPRESSIONS

This game is getter better with each update now. after a long slow crawl it seems that the finish line for the game is within sight. I wouldnt recommend it still as it suffers from many bugs, but at around 0.7 or 0.8 i'd say this would be worth the money. Don't buy unless you want to support the team and play at a later date when its ready
