Easily the best £2.09 you can spend on steam

The best co-op game ever made in my opinion. It is still after all these years the only open world game I have ever 100% completed due to the mini games actually being enjoyable and rewarding rather than an after thought to extend the playtime.

Unfortunately it came out at a time where console and pc releases didn't mix well and therefore unless you want to go through the hassle of setting it up to work correctly don't bother buying it on steam, wait until Microsoft hopefully makes it backwards compatible with Xbox One or play it on an Xbox 360.

Firewatch is like playing with matches it's fun and looks pretty but then it hurts you.

In short if the game was paced better and fleshed out over a further 3-5 hours it would have been a great game, but instead it tried to fit way too much into 3-4 hours resulting in a hugely disappointing ending that has no lasting impact at all. Make no mistake you will probably love this game for the first 3/4s as I did but that simply isn't enough for me to recommend it and it will probably be one of my most disappointing games for a while.

P.S. it would be nice if narrative games got over their aversion to character models, I get it sculpting characters and the animation pipeline is hard work but it would have added a lot to have some actual human interaction during the course of this game; especially towards the end.

P.S.S. Major props to the art team this game is beautiful.
