I want to start this review by saying I enjoyed Shattered Space. I think the concept of it is really well done and the quests are refreshing and interesting. I love the new weapons and armours, the set design, and the npc's. I had a lot of fun playing through the expansion and look forward to replaying it on future playthroughs.

So why a negative review?

Although on a personal level I really enjoyed it, It all comes down to pricing and distribution of the new content. The price is $39.99 CAD and it comes with less content than Bethesda's other DLC's (For instance, Dawnguard for OG Skyrim $21.99 CAD and comes with about double and a half the content) which is outrageous. Also the DLC has zero effect on the base game. The Varuun Zealots have brand new armour and weapons and they were not added to the levelled list of base game zealots which I think is a massive wasted opportunity. Finally, there are a few minor letdowns such as; no new ship parts, the unlockable shop only sells generic items with the occasional Varuun item, and the worldspace only feels handcrafted AT POI's and not inbetween poi's.

I Think Shattered Space is worth getting on a very good sale (60% off or higher) or maybe if you got it with the Ultimate Edition. But overall on an everyday basis, I can't recommend it specifically for the price they are asking for it. It would be a fantastic DLC if it was closer to $10 CAD or $15 CAD

After playing through this game three times and getting most of the achievements, I feel like I can properly review this game now. Starfield is a flawed but very fun game.

As a disclaimer, I play the game with no mods other than the Bethesda-made creations that are available.

The Good:
The main quest is fairly short but the side quests in the game are super interesting and fun. The Crimson Fleet and UC story lines are quite entertaining and have quite a lot of detail put into them. There are also several other encounters in the game that are out of the way and don't have any related achievements but are really well constructed. The gameplay is of course classic Bethesda with a space twist. The ship building is amazing and the visuals are astounding. I can walk around planets and fly around in space for hours and just enjoy myself. True to Bethesda game fashion I love to collect the various 'junk' items throughout the game and decorate my bases with them.

The Icky:
Starfield is a game that is constructed in a game engine that very much does not support the design is set out to make. There are quite a few loading screens and since there aren't any visuals to go along with the loading screens it feels very 2011. I personally don't mind them as they are short, but they can break from immersion if you are used to games that don't have as many. As mentioned above, the main quest is very short, with half of it being fetch quests. Outpost building is primarily a resource generation mechanic first, and base building/decorating second and this is really disheartening coming from Fallout 4's building system.

Overall I really enjoy the game and think it is definitely worth picking up. If you are hesitant with all the negative reviews you should pick it up on a sale. You will likely not enjoy the game if several short loading screens bother you.

Darkest Dungeon II is a new take on the formula that Darkest Dungeon presented. It adds more mechanics that were in the first game, such as Daze (previously only in The Butchers Circus DLC of Darkest Dungeon)

I really enjoy the gameplay of this game and think it's a really good one. It is quite different than the first game and the two are almost not comparable aside from soundtrack and lore (which this game gets right.)

I think this game is 100% worth a buy if you like the rogue-like elements from the first game.

This game is amazing, while the updates for the game finally have stopped, it's been kept alive by it's amazing and passionate developers.

Sometimes the words of a stranger speak much louder and much clearer to you than the words of someone you love and trust. This game is amazing, and being able to send out your woes and issues, getting extremely kind words back from someone you'll never even meet is a strangely special experience. I would highly recommend this to absolutely anyone.
