While I do like this game, I cannot recommend this game because of the DLC's tendency to delete your save. Which really sucks, so if you play the DLC get all the collectibles first.

I'll have to warn you this game is VERY short. Took me 10 hours to 100% this game, no guides and that's me looking around and trying to do everything. If you can get this game on sale, do not pay full price unless you think 10 hours is worth that.

The first one is that the dialogue choices and what's said aren't the same thing. While they do generally have the same tone as you'd think. It's a really big pain in the side for me. Considering this game is dialogue and dialogue choices MATTER.

Second is that this game is like 80% cutscene and 20% gameplay. Not a deal breaker, but coming from Life is Strange 1 and Before the Storm where it's maybe like 50/50 or 60/40. This game is a lot like watching a choose your own adventure if it was a TV show. Just something to be aware of.

For the story, without any spoilers. I thought it was an alright story, like with the previous games I think the emotion and going through the characters stories is pretty good. Considering this game is all about emotions, thought it was pretty cool how the gameplay mechanics were implemented in this game. Maybe a little sparse, but it was alright.

Gameplay wise, it's like the other games but less time with you controlling the actual character. Most of the time you will be navigating dialogue choices, and then watching a scene play out. You're like a TV director, calling out the lines for actors to say, and then watching the story unfold.

This next paragraph could be considered a spoiler, however there will be no actual concrete details on events or anything. Just me stating how I felt and what the story reminded me of.

Now, this game reminds me a lot of the first game. You could even say it a remake with different events. While the story is completely different it feels like it follows the same story arcs and similar progressions. So while not a bad thing, if you come from playing the first game to this, everything might feel very familiar. And while I did enjoy most of the game I do think the first chapter is rough and the last chapter also just falling short of what it could have been. It's like they either ran out of ideas, ran out of time, or just gave up and didn't care anymore. And when I completed the game I felt like I was halfway through the story. I seriously thought "It seems like they wrapped up the story, what are they going to throw at me in the last 2 chapters?" and then it ended. I thought I was in chapter 3 when I was in the last chapter 5.

Steph's story started out really strong, I really enjoyed what I got to play. What I found out though is that the DLC has a bug, which seems to have never been fixed since the time of writing this review. The bug WHICH WILL DELETE YOUR SAVE and you will have to start all the way over. So, there's that.

While the game might be fun, I keep running into a bug that makes it so my weapons don't shoot. In the first mission. Can't progress and it happens even in new games.

Since the game is unplayable for me, I cannot recommend this.

Life is Strange is one of my all time favorite games. The remastered version is actually pretty good. This one I can recommend over the original, since they are the same game, your getting better visuals. Though I think the art style is slightly different.

The game took me about 20 hours to finish, and that's 100% it. So first play through expect around 20 hours. This Remaster is way better than Before the Storms Remaster, so if you're coming from that and are worried you can put that worry away.

The only glitch I came across seems to be a common one and one that also came from the original game, which is on a different engine so that's kinda odd. No spoilers, I believe in chapter 4 there's a point where you have to connect something to something else and after an action the prompts disappear and you teleport positions which isn't supposed to happen. If this happens to you google the fix and that's what fixed it for me.

This game being free to play just baffles me. For a free game try it out you have nothing to lose. It's great.

This game while seems like it takes from a bunch of games, actually puts all those game mechanics together into a cohesive experience. The game doesn't feel like a drag so far with almost 30 hours of game, I remade my character once because servers have their own difficulties. The first server I joined turned out to be novice and was extremely easy, I am now on hard and this is how I would suggest you play if you want a more survival feel to the game.

Overall, I would recommend this game. There's a storyline to this game so you can pretty much play the game solo, but being able to play with friends and build your own towns is pretty fun.

The game looks great, and runs fairly well. However, with my GPU (6700XT) I had to turn my render scaling to 90% as my frame consistency was all over the place even on the lowest settings. Now I'm running high settings with about 100fps. So look into that if you're having troubles.

The community is also very helpful, so if you're having troubles make sure to read the whispers. People have left hints and answers all over the place.

Not sure what I was looking for when I started playing this, but the story isn't really there or cohesive at all. The intro cinematics were pretty cool but that's it. The gameplay is fine but very boring and doesn't draw me in to keep playing. Missions are very short. The game might get good later, but just being a looter shooter isn't enough to keep me coming back.

Go play the original and not the remastered version. This version is littered with bugs, a lot of them are visual. Lots of flashing lights so be aware. Also, some dialogue just isn't shown and the subtitles work half the time. I played this years after the remastered release since I heard the bugs were bad. They are still there. So, I cannot recommend this version. ALSO, the game crashes every time you try to quit the game. Go figure.

The story though is pretty good, I enjoyed it. I just recommend playing the original version because of the bugs in this one, and some can be game breaking if you need subtitles to know what's going on.

I really enjoyed this game. The graphics hit that sweet spot of looking old but not dated. It's a great looking game. The gameplay, like the original, are smooth with some wonky aspects. Though I only played the original long enough to get a feel for it.

It took me 30 hours to complete this game without looking up any guides. There was also a point where I got lost and forgot what I was doing. Since this game doesn't hold your hand, you'll be going through and reading and listening to logs to figure out what's going on and where to go next.

With the inventory system they have, you'll be back tracking and figuring out the best place to put your stuff. Or changing out your gear. (I highly recommend the maintenance level where the freight elevator is for having a centrally located stash.)

I didn't play the game on the hardest difficulty since that's one life mode, and not something I wanted to do blindly. The one before it is the same difficulty but is not one life mode. However, I did have the other difficulties on the hardest difficulty and I never had any trouble with puzzles. They are unique, but not very difficult. Ammo is not an issue in this game, this game throws ammo at you. I had more ammo stashed then I could use on the last half of the game.

Overall I really enjoyed this game. A dang near perfect 10/10.

If you have a wide monitor, or ultra wide, this game is essentially unplayable. And there is no fix for it. The game is fov locked, so the wider the game renders the more zoomed in you are. On my monitor it's so zoomed in I can barely see Rayne's head, let alone her legs.

You can mess with the resolution in the ini but the game will render to your aspect ratio, so that doesn't fix the problem.

If there was a windowed mode, or an aspect ratio lock like in the first game I'd be happy. But there's not.

About on par for an older game, it's not great but it's not bad. Definitely dated, especially the controls. For a game that has platforming bits, the movement is terrible.

This is a game that came out where saving was still being figured out. So if you get stuck on a mission, just hope it's not near the end. The missions are fairly short, but there are quite a few of them. While most of the game is breeze the bosses can be quite difficult until you figure out the gimmicks that some bosses have. However, a bridge was the single most difficult boss I faced in this game in terms of dying.

I don't know how I feel about this game. It's short, felt like other games in a FEAR skin. The story isn't really there though there is quite a bit of logs you can collect and read about whats going on around the character. The ending is just odd.

This game is definitely a product of it's time, even though there is an aim down sights system it doesn't make the guns more accurate. It just zooms in with whatever bloom is at when you're standing or crouched, moving or jumping. The slow mo is something I hardly ever used, as there wasn't really ever a time I needed it. This mode does make your guns way more accurate though.

The DLC, Reborn. Is extremely short. It's a move forward and keep firing type of game. Maybe like an hour long. The premise is kinda cool, however things go off the rail and stops making sense. Which I guess kinda makes sense from the characters perspective. Reborn however is short sighted and completely misses the mark unless you're a FEAR junkie or just completed the first game. Otherwise, it's like picking up a book and reading a chapter or two and sitting it down. Don't know who anyone is, don't know what's the end goal, don't know how it all started or how it will end. The DLC feels like it should have been for the first game, but it takes place somewhere in the middle or end of the second.

It's not a bad game, just weird. If you got it cheap and liked the first one, I would recommend playing this one as it picks up right after the first one.
