10/10, no hesitation or doubt.

Beating the living ♥♥♥♥ out of a child with a baseball bat and watching their corpse hit the ground so hard they bounced back up like a spring was the single funniest thing I think I've ever seen in a game. I could not be happier.

Too hard!!!!

Now that I've baited morons with no critical thinking, outward perception or empathy skills into giving me free points via the Jester award:

I actually absolutely adore this game so far. Challenging but very fair to get into, extremely fun to ♥♥♥♥ around with friends and see how far we can get by complimenting each other's weaknesses, roaming the dungeon to see what we find and regrouping when we find tough enemies or need to trade between ourselves and appraise goodies.

My only real complaints are how many classes just do not have any appraisal skill at all to start off, making solo runs rather unpleasant, and the rather heavy-handed approach to giving DLC races so many absurd downsides. I really enjoy monk, but they feel like I'm punishing myself by not playing a different class with some level of starting appraisal. Meanwhile races I'd love to play, like the Goatman (because they look cool, how can you not wanna run around as an angry little goat dude?) are nigh unplayable looking at how terribly they get shafted just for the ability to open cans without an opener, essentially. But perhaps I'm missing some crucial detail, as I am still learning. Otherwise? I sincerely love the game, and am sad I only just now got recommended it by a friend.

Obviously not much of a game on its own, but with all the community-made content that's been released over the years, I'd say it's definitely good for a few hours of fun.

Extremely bare bones even for an EA release game.

Grand total of 6, maybe 7 enemies all featuring pitifully simple AI who just run in straight lines at you and break if you put anything between you or gain any height over them, the vast majority of which can simply be outran. Zero documentation on what anything does, your self-defense options MIGHT stun enemies for a second, or they might just bounce off an enemy, break and launch at you as you get kicked in half by an instant kill enemy with no actual weakness besides -sometimes-, if he's feeling generous, being scared of fire.

Game demonstrated a lot of instability and bugs and spent a decent chunk of time just trying to make the game play nice with my system, which alone is a bit of a deal breaker.

Gameplay loop, for what I saw, is barely existent to begin with.
Push cart, find place of interest. Loot boring, samey goodies, take them to your cart, push cart, immediately find a merchant to sell to so you can buy from the same stock of 5 items over and over again, repeat. Locations are all nearly identical, the graphics follow that hip young "We're using bad graphics INTENTIONALLY, because it's TOTALLY spoooooky!" crap that just makes the game hard to see for the sake of "atmosphere", when in reality it only hinders the experience. Settings suite is pitifully limited, and I'd have loved to see more.

No updates in over a month, and the last one was four tiny changes. So much for EA allowing the dev team to dedicates themselves fully to the project!

Game offers no explanation of what anything does, the game is microscopic in scope and community so finding unofficial documentation is nigh impossible, and even if there was a way there's barely anything in this seemingly abandoned game to warrant looking up in the first place. Still wonder what nametags do, though. Or what the purpose of the bucket is. Or the spear, when the crossbow seems slightly more reliable for stunning, yet equally worthless ultimately.

Ultimately not even worth the $10 I paid for this, and I deeply regret that I spent so much time trying to make the game run, as I sadly hit the 2 hour mark and am probably screwed when it comes to getting that money back. But hey, I guess the devs at least earned from me a dollar for every minute they spent working on this game.

Genuinely great game, and a delightful follow-up to the original, which I also quite loved.

The game is gorgeous and performs well on the maximum settings given how much is going on in the environments, the amount of stuff going on and the sheer number of bodies on-screen. The gameplay is a delightfully refreshing rehashing of the previous game's, refined and honed to a fine point which asks skill from you without feeling unfair. I've played so far with one friend of mine, and we played on Veteran for the duration of our campaign play time, which makes up 90% of our recorded time.

Difficulty is challenging at times, but entirely fair. It keeps pressure on and ensures you don't relax and let up, but in no way feels like it's choking you or oppressive in its presence. My biggest gameplay complaint is that the AI companions are a bit brain dead, though they make up for that by being nigh invincible in the vast majority of scenarios. Enemy AI is persistent, appropriately aggressive and performs well at presenting a common threat. Melee enemies will swarm you and ensure your focus is taken up to allow ranged units to fire on you from safety and will generally try to re-acquire your attention if you start ignoring them to kill their ranged allies. It's nice to see.

The only genuine problems I have that at all make me dislike the game at all are:
1) The lack of customization during the campaign. I wanted to play my own custom marine :(
and 2) The campaign mode is horrifically buggy at the time of posting. My aforementioned friend and I frequently had severe issues with the game catching on "Joining server" when connecting to one another, having to frequently flip flop between who hosts and who's even able to load in to the level once joined up. We also found that, in harder areas, if we died frequently in one area the game would begin to completely break down. Items would become unable to be picked up, things would stop spawning, we'd be without resources and couldn't progress further as a result, even after multiple restarts. These issues did NOT persist into the PvE side mode in any capacity. We were able to end off our session on a positive light thanks to that mode being extremely fun and much less buggy.

Otherwise? I adore the game as it is, and am eager to eventually check out PvP once the game releases to everyone. Solid 8/10 from ol' Sharp Hand Joe.

Game is fun, and if it weren't for some of the worse balance I've seen in years I'd happily recommend it, but if you aren't going in knowing how to speedrun progression you're gonna be getting 1 shotted by the vast majority of enemies pretty quickly. Without mods there is no ability to save your game, and likewise if you do die your save is immediately wiped and you get to go start again.

It's a great foundation, but 3 years in and being one of the most (unfair) challenging games I've played in years, outdoing the Souls games, is a miracle. Tutorial ending at "Pick up a rock and hit a tree" doesn't help, either.

Thus far my furthest run has been I think day 6, with some good gear and a really solid start for progressing towards harder bosses and big kid stuff, only to have one of the most obnoxious enemies I've ever seen in gaming spawn in 2 feet away from me at night, nearly 1 shot me with a pinpoint accurate laser beam and then chase me quite literally across the map to kill me. Sure wish enemies didn't see you once and decide that you're the only thing in the universe worth hurting from then on. Being able to run away and resupply without being hit in the back would be great, but as is you either kill the enemy or die. There is no loss of aggro, and that is kinda the final nail in the coffin for me.

Having read through other reviews I feel like they're either bot accounts or paid for, because seeing the game's difficulty curve being described as "Strategic" and the progression called "Deep and interesting" is so far from the truth it's not even funny.

It's discount Rust, but if you aren't fully kitted by your third in-game day it won't be players raiding you, but rather NPCs deciding your free trial of life has ended. The AI is the dumbest I've seen in gaming almost ever, 99% of them being susceptible to being circle strafed to death and as a result they make up for that by going from doing basically 0 damage to snapping their fingers and having you melt.

Fake reviews aside, I pray that some day a game like this is released and actually worked on to make it balanced and fun in equal measure, because this ain't it.

Also, one final note: Why is grass demonstrably harmful to the game experience? Not being able to see anything on the ground literally ever, especially when grass is on by default, is remarkably short sighted.

Buy the game because the movie's a classic.

Play first match.
Not know how to do anything because there are no control options.
Immediately within a minute start getting yelled at by someone who sounds like he has a few fingers in his mouth.
Called every insulting name he can think of, which frankly isn't many and begins to very quickly start repeating.
Die like 3 times trying to figure out how to play, because I got randomly assigned as a Klown.
Do basically nothing all game besides hook up cocoons and die.
Still end the game with more points than the random dude.
Struggle to find the willpower to play any more matches, because I can't find a way to mute VC from specific people.

Top notch game. It has every modern requirement - no options, a toxic playerbase from day 1 and cool looking Klowns.

Shockingly fun game that is intuitive enough to feel good even while learning, benefits from not having to learn an all new set of hundreds of made up cards (kind of), and varied enough that while losing sucks, it doesn't dishearten. My biggest complaint is that I can't play it on my phone over night at work. :(
