DO NOT BELIEVE the negative reviews plastered all over the place, this game is absolutely fantastic. I'm not going to tell you all about the features or give you an in-depth pro and con review. This is a Total War game, and if you're reading this, odds are that you've played those before. The mechanics are essentially the same as in the predecessors, only this time optimized for the fantasy setting of the world of Warhammer. Although it is the first time the developers (The Creative Assembly) dip their toes into the crowded waters of fantasy RTS/TBS, they master it easily and with bravour. Sure, one can argue about the price and the questionable policy regarding DLC, but that can hardly be an issue, as there's tons of sites out there offering the game for a little more than half the retail-price INCLUDING DLC.

To keep it short and readable, YES, I absolutely do recommend this game for everyone interested in strategy games, the Total War Sereis, Warhammer or anything close to that. It looks, plays and feels like a Total War game (the good ones, you know which ones I mean) AND immerses you flawlessly in the Warhammer universe. As opposed to apparently a third of early adopters, I did not have any problems starting or running the game, despite my years-old system it is running perfectly on medium to high settings. The only issues I encountered were one wrongly labelled trait (in the german version) and the mysterious vanishing of every sound but the music after nine hours of continuous play. Fixed it by restarting the game :P

Do I wish that the text entries regarding the lore and the charakters were longer and more detailed? Yes.
Would it be fun if the Hordes of Chaos were as massive and overpowered as they, by the powers bestowed upon them by the Dark Gods, should be, leaving only a trail of dust, blood and suffering in ther wake? Absolutely. But as of now, you will have to fight for your right to rule over the Old World.

But rest assured, you're going to enjoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. 9/10, would and will subjugate the Old World again.

Capital ship warfare in space and Unreal Engine 4... that is all you really need to know for now. Just try it, even the alpha build is already amazing.
