Just to preface everything, let me say that the game looks great, the battle system is entertaining and the enactment of the original DBZ storyline is done fine but there is a few glaring things that tip me towards a negative review.

Before you proceed there are some minor spoilers in this review to the progression of the game. I suppose there are also story spoilers but I'm going to assume 99.99% of people who play this have played some of the 100 or so games that have come out that portray the story in the past.

1. The unending abuse of fetch quests.

The devs have made very little effort in the side content. They had an opportunity to make some good stories in between the main story set pieces but end up just getting you to pick up items and hand them in to random NPCs for XP. This is a missed opportunity in my opinion. I find myself skipping the majority of the dialog as the stories themselves are so boring. Chi Chi: "Hey Gohan, get me some ingrediants so I can make you dinner" *YAWN*

2. For a game called Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, you don't play as Goku that much.

What I was hoping for in this game was an opportunity to experience the events of Dragon Ball in the shoes of Goku for the most part. A lot of the time the game pulls you away from Goku for extended periods of time to play with other characters. It begs the question why they decided to name the game "Kakarot" in the first place. It would be more accurate to call this Dragon Ball Z: The RPG, as you control the characters that have the most sway to the plot at the time.

3. Events that you would think would be included in the game are absent or too brief.

Just to give some examples, the training Goku does with King Kai is absent, the training he does in the space ship to Namek is absent, the time Goku was on Yardrat is absent (granted this was not shown in the original show but it was a missed opportunity), a lot of the hyperbolic time chamber was far too short...the list goes on. Bandai Namco could have kept us with Goku during these times and devised some fun side activities to give these moments a nod but they don't bother with that. All you get is some shallow stills to say "Goku did this with X trainer"

4. Constant loading screens.

I think we are in a world now where we can agree that loading between areas every 5 minutes is excessive. The game calls for you to travel to many different regions in the world and each region requires a load before proceeding. Due to the amount of side quests (fetch quests -_-) you get sent all over, so the time you spend in loading screens adds up. Just to be clear, I have a high performance SSD so I dont complain about this lightly.

If the game was cheaper and you can live with these things then I would begrudgingly recommend this game. Get the game on sale if you can. Half the price of $89.95 AUD (For me) would make me ignore a lot of what I've stated here, but for the price they have put on this I expected something a lot more.

Man this game was fun. I am an old Sci-Fi fan and to see a lot of the good old Sci-Fi tropes coming up during exploration of the games galaxy was very entertaining. Also building your ship up from a pathetic little tug to a behemoth bristling with weapons and advanced technology was very satisfying.
The story was also quite good. It had me invested in the mystery which had me playing for hours on end.
The game could be considered to be repetitive by many, but I didn't find this to be a deterrent in this instance. The game was fun enough to play that it wasn't too noticeable by the end.
I will say that getting to the end I did find the ship progression ended a bit too soon. After you reach certain technological milestones the game gets quite easy. I would've also liked to make my ship even bigger as I found myself sitting on a pile of unused resources. That could very well be because I was quite thorough in exploring every nook and cranny of the galaxy, meaning the ship I ended up with was justifiably overpowered by the endgame.

Please make a sequel, Devs. You have a pre-purchase with me :)

8/10 - Very Good

Here's why:

I have read other people's impressions of this game and find myself wanting to weigh in on my own review.
This game was treading dangerously from the get-go.

Planescape: Torment was a game-changer for storytelling in computer games imo. A lot of people for the first time found themselves engaged to the point of violently lashing out at family members for interrupting them during a particularly interesting spool of text. So when I see negative reviews where people are screaming out "NOT a worthy successor to PS:Torment!" I cant help but feel like that's an unfair assessment.

This game captures the spirit of Planescape: Torment very well. It definately has the writing skill and deep mystery element of it's predecessor. The world feels vast in the sense that nothing that you see ever fully comprehends the complexity of it.

A wall may seem like a wall, but in reality it's name is Fred and like's the taste of human flesh at midnight.
A particular NPC you are talking to may seem like a run of the mill human, but in reality it's a transdimentional traveller who exists in many dimensions at the same time.
The very land you walk seems to tremor, but that's only because it's got an itch that it so desperately wants to scratch.

This is what I enjoyed most from both games. That feeling of being in a world that is almost uncomprehensible. A world that makes you think beyond the bounds and rules of reality.

Of course it doesnt mean I think this game is perfect, otherwise why would I give it an 8.
There are bugs, but let's be honest, it's got ties with Obsidian so I cant help but expect it.
Character's bug out at times, text boxes get stuck on screen, characters freeze and wont move from their positions. Hopefully these things will be fixed in later updates but I tend to deal with it as long as it's not game-breaking.
The characters are not as interesting as the ones from PS:Torment. They lack the personality depth that the originals did by a fair margin.
The character models are ugly. The fact that you are unable to customise your castoff was a disappointment for me, but then again you werent given that same freedom in PS:Torment either.

However there are so many things to like as well.
The dialogue is rich and engaging. I never felt reading it was tedious. NPCs always had something interesting to say that pulled me in. And some of the meta themes being discussed really blew my mind at times.
The many choices you are presented in dealing with people and situations in the world was also really well done. There are always 3+ ways to deal with most things.
The main character and his followers all had some interesting nuance to them that made me want to go that extra mile in learning more about them. My favourite follower was Rhin :).
I have already gushed about the world so I wont restate it.

I found the combat to be OK. It got the job done. It wasnt anything amazing but that isnt what I was playing the game for to begin with.

So tying this up. Do I think this game is a worthy successor to PS:Torment. Yes!.
Do I think this game is better than PS:Torment. No. But when you think about it, does it really need to be? Would we rather this game never existed?
I for one am glad it exists and had a blast playing it.
For all it's worth I am excited for the future. I look forward to seeing what other games are made in the Numenera multi-verse ;)

This new installment in the Deus Ex saga is a worthy successor to Deus Ex: Human Revolution with refined gameplay, graphics and map design. The freedom of Choosing your own way to solve a problem has been futher expanded here. There is no one situation (that I can think of) where you have only one way to do something. Most times, there are 4-5 ways to approach a solution to a problem.
To all those who hated the boss fights in Deus Ex Human Revolution, you will be happy to know that these are absent from this game.
It's all around a more polished and better designed product and I enjoyed every moment of my 30 hours playing the game.

The only things I will say is inferior to Human Revolution is the story depth and some bugs and mouse issues that plagued me at launch. The story is fine, it's not amazing but it does it's job. The way it is being told is clear that the writers are thinking long term now that the franchise is a sure thing for Eidos. Most of the technical issues and mouse problems have been resolved at this review post but I am finding the load times to be brutal.

There are a large number of bad reviews for this game but I am seeing a lot that are focusing too much on stuff that really doesnt matter imo. Many negative reviews seem to be centered around the microtransactions (which I didnt even notice in my playthrough) and the day one DLC being only usuable once on a single save file. I need to say this....it's time we treat day 1 DLC as what it is....trash. You can argue about this all day long, but in the end what are you paying for? To play the game asap!, or to sit and look at Jensen in a different coat. Let's be real here guys. I didnt preorder my game for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ extra gimmicks. I preordered so when I got home from work on launch day, I could dive right in.

I am a true fan of Deus Ex. I have played and completed Deus Ex, Infinite War, Human Revolution and now Mankind Divided and I hope that this review helps fans like myself make an informed decision before a purchase.
Well worth the buy - 8/10

Critics gonna Critique.
This game is not nearly as bad as they say.
If you want to nit-pick, yeah, there's plenty to poke fun at.
The graphics are sub-par.
The dialog animations are wooden.
The voice acting is poor.

HOWEVER...I love this game.
The reasons are I am a sucker for cyberpunk, and this is very much that.
I'm also a big Sci-Fi fan. I get big Dune vibes from this.
The combat is tough but fair. In the beginning it will be frustrating, but much like Dark Souls games, once you flesh out your character and get a a handle of the combat system it all starts to make sense. The moment you get your character just right, it's very rewarding dispatching enemies you originally had trouble with, with relative ease.

The Story is textbook distopia that you would expect from a cyberpunk, and the plot is no slouch.

Should you pay $45USD for this?
No.
A fair price for this would be $20-30USD
The game aims for the AAA arena and falls short. This doesnt mean it isnt a good though.

7/10!

Another Telltale Adventure with a load of potential. This time with Batman! One of my favourite dark hero's.
I had a great time with this one. It really nailed the underworld grittyness you expect from the World's Greatest Detective. If you arn't a fan of QT story-driven games then I would give this a miss, but if you are a Batman fanboy like me, then you may want to suck it up and play. The story is going in an interesting direction that has me eager to see what happens next.

In terms of the technical issues people are describing, I had none.
I have a fairly decent PC.
Ran this game at 2560x1440 at High Quality and got 60fps throughout.

Specs:
i7-6700
16Gb Ram
R9 295x2 GPU
Windows 10 64-bit

Hopefully if you are considering buying this game and have similar specs, this will make the decision simpler.

Disclaimer: Review was made at the end of episode one. Will consider updating review if my opinion changes.

Early Access Review
The game is not finished yet. There is little to no gameplay at the moment. What is there is basically a graphical representation of the level layouts. Wait if you want to save money or Buy now if you want to support the developer.

As an original backer, I am happy to support this project as all the updates and Dev blogs have cemented my commitment to my pledge (hence my recommendation), but new users will obviously be ignorant to this.

I highly recommend visiting http://www.afterreset.com/ for the full story so you can make an informed decision of whether to support or wait.

I am really quite confused as to what critics are on about here.
The game was great. I love my action adventure games like this one and it did not disappoint. The battle system is open and diverse, the setting is gritty and dark. Think DMC meets God of War with a hint of The Darkness (for atmosphere).

Ignore the critics..their opinion is incorrect. Trust the fan reviews as they are what really matter.

First off, ignore all reviews made by professional critics. For some reason or another they have given this game a bad rap that it does not deserve.

This game is a 'good' game. Nothing groundbreaking but it is definately worth playing. I found myself immersed in the story and constantly guessing "who is the murderer?" This to me is one of the most important thing in a mystery driven game; it keeps you guessing. The gameplay is simplistic and the investigations are very straightforward. In my opinion, this is moreso used as a vehicle for the story and not meant to give a significant challenge.

Murdered: Soul Suspect has a story to tell and I must say it does it well here. Dont walk into this expecting an action packed skill gauntlet, because it simply doesnt occur here. It's asking price is quite steep for what the game is. I would wait till it gets down to $20-$30. The game took me around 6 hours to complete so it is not very long at all. However, I came away from this like after watching a good film at the movies. Expensive for something short, but so enjoyable.

If I were to give this a score I would give it 7.5/10
