I bought this game around January when I first got the vive. It was the top game on steam at the time, and the reviews were very good. Since then, I have been so addicted to this game, that it is one of the only games I seem to really enjoy in VR.

I'll talk about the base game first, then the community behind it (which is for sure the biggest impact on the game).

The base game is great, it includes some very well made levels, which can be challenging for new players, and when playing, I can defiantly feel a sense of progression when playing. The game is also very simplistic, hit the red cubes in the direction with the red saber, and the blue cubes with the blue saber. However, this game offers so much complexity in their levels, and the amount of thought and concentration to get past some of these levels makes it so much fun. I like the combo system and points system, as it really makes me feel like I am improving and achieving something when I full combo a level.

As a summary for the base game, it includes many very well made levels, which are complex and difficult to beat and require a lot of concentration to complete. They are very fun, and I have a lot of respect for Beat Games with the amount of effort they have put into developing these levels and making it fun for both beginners/experienced players.

Now the community... Its hard to start with where the community is, as it is the driving force for this game, and makes up around 50-60 hours of my playtime at this current time.

The community has been amazing and so supportive behind this game. They have managed to make their own songs, sabers, platforms etc. The game is now fully customizable to your liking with the beat saber modding tools provided by the community, and makes the game so much more fun. Some of the levels provided by the community wipe away the base levels of the game, and make so many diverse and complex levels that are fun for any level of experience and skill in beat saber. There are thousands of songs made for beat saber, which allows for endless amounts of playtime, and always keeps me entertained to beat levels. The customization of sabers, platforms and avatars is what makes this game so interesting aswell.

To summarize, the community is like I said, the driving force of the game, and provides so much content, that it will never get boring for me, and I believe for most people too. They offer so much customization, and tools to make the game truly the way you want to play it.

Game summary:

Beat saber is a simple "slash the cube" game, which offer a lot of content, customization and replayability. The graphics look great, with awesome lighting effects and physics effects. I would highly recommend anyone who gets a vive or owns one, should pick this game up as it is worth every single penny. If your not convinced, watch some videos on it, and I believe you may change your opinion on the game.
