Early Access Review
dedicated servers whitelist only, official stats progression threatens a $5k fine for every player the developers thinks you may of boosted, whitelisted servers "require a static ip", rip anyone of normal ass internet connection that just wants to lan with there friends, not being EA is supposed to be a main selling point of this game, but the developers are control freaks.

why do all the top down shooters have awful zoomed in smoothed cameras that slide around all over the place these days, literally unplayable.

shutup and take my money, the Futurama meme, i saw other people had V16s, i looked at the stupid DLC, and i looked at the number of hours i had in Automation, and i decided to throw my money at the dumb DLC, instant satisfaction i have successfully thrown my money at the game, if you would also like to do that then i recommend this as a decent way of doing so.

im feeling like this game is a 9/10 very solid shooter but its too easy and eats too much CPU about as much as Cyberpunk2077
would recommend for anyone with a relatively modern gaming CPU probably like 8700k and up, and a decent monitor/mouse/keyboard setup for shooters.

disgustingly bad game, need to go into .ini to remove fps cap, runs like crap, doesn't even look good, minimum mouse sensitivity is too high and feels like ♥♥♥♥, all the GUIs are massive like there made for phone screens.

the Aquarion Tribe is kind of confused its mostly a reskin of a regular tribe but with a few important exceptions, amphibious rider units, that offer relatively early water exploration, but cannot into battleships i don't really want that in my water tribe, but its made up for by the completely overpowered crab giant that can delete entire enemy fleets by attacking again every time it kills a unit, and it gets ranged paper knights that have a ranged attack and can run away but die really quickly,

probably the best DLC for this game but it doesn't really work without being able to abuse the crabs, and it kind of feels out of place i like the default factions more

awful DLC Elyrion have a weird broken economy that discourages growing large cities required to obtain dragon eggs that don't hatch until the game is over anyway

this is the worst DLC for this game i don't consider any them worth its a great game awful DLC, the Cymanti Tribe is the weakest tribe in the game but it also has the most interesting and unique gameplay, maybe a option as a multiplayer handicap for good players?,

the reason the Cymanti are so weak is that there giant unit is completely hard countered by monks, it is otherwise the strongest giant unit, every time it kills its a unit it grows a tail segment which blocks a tile and acts as extra life for the unit these tails can grow absurdly long and if they are cut half the giant splits into 2 growing a 2nd head with full HP,

but these long tails block your own units so the amount of damage you can inflict at the front towards the end of the game becomes limited, and then a monk converts your giant and all of its tail, and then the tail blows up killing most of your units, yes the tails can blow up its much more fun to grow giant tails that turn into lots of giants, however you probably want your giants to die ASAP because losing all your units to a monk is not fun at all, effectivly the Cymanti Tribe ends up playing without giants,

and often without roads too you see the Cymanti can't build roads instead they have a sort of land port building that they can only build one of per city which automatically connects roads directly to other landports in range, but it cannot share a tile with a resource exploitation, so often you have to ask yourself are you really going to demolish that farm or gold mine to build a road?, since there are no empty tiles in range, and even if they were the roads they would create would be out of way from where you need your units anyway

its a fun cute little 4x with a surprisingly interesting gameplay, its not in the same league as Civ V or Endless space, however it is something different with its own unique features and unlike those games its not full of bugs.

the economy consists of growing your cities using a finite amount of on map resources locked behind techs, when your cities grow they produce more stars per turn and you get to pick a bonus, these stars are the games single currency nice and simple, they can used to create units, exploit tiles, or unlock techs,

the combat is like Civ V but combat strength is split into attack and defend, and the game plays on a square tile grid, without Civ IV's unit stacking, i think this is ideal as Civ Vs hex grid felt like it very often got clogged up with units and the AI could hardly handle it, having 8 different tiles to move to instead of 6 tiles does much to help this problem,

the game has a enjoyable early game exploration phase where you can find ruins(goody huts!), and you can even snag whole cities for free that beats building settlers, but this too has a interesting caveat as each city you grab increases tech cost by 1 while not increasing your income by much until you can grow it using tiles that are locked behind techs and the cities can sometimes become expensive to defend too so you might want to stay at 1 or 2 cities for a little while you unlock some key early game techs especially if your units can find more goody huts running past the cities.
