"Sons of the Forest" is honestly a very disappointing game. I've waited such a long time for this game to release. Playing through it could not have been a more disappointing experience. I played the game with my friend in co-op, but the game felt half-baked. So much was missing in terms of the building mechanics. But the most disappointing thing was the story. There was no character arc, and the ending was very abrupt. Compared to the original "The Forest," the story elements in "Sons of the Forest" are so vague and lacking in fleshed-out character building. The original had a plot going for it, giving us the player a reason to make the choice that one would make at the end. As said, the ending of "Sons of the Forest" is, in my opinion, lacking. There is not really any reason for the character interactions that happen in the ending, and it opens more questions than it answers. When I had finished the game, I was left with a feeling of "Was that really it?" There is no ending cutscene and no real explanation for what was going on. I don't know if it's because I missed something in the game or if I'm misunderstanding the ending. But overall, it left me very disappointed, which probably because my friends and I had hyped up the game to be a smash hit.

But the game was nevertheless fun to play until we reached the ending. The game, in my opinion, does not live up to the same standard as the original "The Forest." I do have to keep in mind that this is the early access version, and changes may happen to the game, making it better.
