Final Fantasy XIV is a good game. Visually it looks amazing and the gameplay is really fun.

However there are a couple things that take it away from being at the top spots for MMO's i've played. Firstly the world size, although there are plenty of zones to explore they are all instanced. This means to go between each zone requires a loading screen which doesn't seem that bad but there also 2 areas in each major city meaning you have to load every time between them. Also unlike other MMO's the zones feel rather restricting. By that I mean that there's a set area you can walk in and there's a lot of predetermined areas you can't walk over where its just an invisible wall all the way around the object instead of letting you freely explore over it. This is minor really but it makes the world feel smaller.
Secondly questing. Before you can move on in the game at all you must complete the Main Story Quests with over 180 between level 1 and 50. Once at 50 you have to play through exactly 100 more quests before you can even enter or use anything heavenward related. The quests still continue after that currently going post 60. This quest system isn't bad but after getting to 50 you have to spend way to much time going through pointless quests unless your interested in the storyline.

Now that aside it is a really fun game. It has a fun class system which allows you to have 1 of every class on one character allowing you to switch between them when your not busy. Each of them requiring its own leveling. This system means that your not tied to one class and allows ou to play what's needed at the time. The boss fights are really fun with the Sync system meaning even people higher level than the boss will be synced with gear and level to help you so you get a more rea experience as to what it was like to do it when it was first released. Lastly just look at this game it looks stunning and that's all that has to be said on that.

I would recommend this game.

I would recommend this game to anyone who loves exploration games. Nobody can deny the disaster this game was in at launch but Hello Games have truely put in the effort and turned this game into something amazing. Maybe still not worth $90 to some but well worth if its on sale.

I payed $3 on sale for this game and honestly it was one of the best $3 ive ever spent. Althought he games storyline is rather short the story, gameplay and the graphics make up for that. It is truely a great game but im not sure if i would pay the normal $15.99 price for this game because of how short the storyline is.

EDIT: AFter spending $3 on the witcher 2. I have to say that was the best $3 Ive ever spent.

Despite all the bugs this game is a great end to the storm series. With a large amount of characters to choose from and amazing new effects this game has really finished in a good way. The storyline follows the maga all the way to the end. One of the otherways they really did a great job was with the new battle system allowing you to channge to support charcters in fights allowing for new combos, also with the added elemtal aspect it really adds to the gameplay, such as water moves being bigger while standing on water, fire doing DOT after a succesful hit, it really makes for a intresting change to the Storm combat system.I would recommend but be aware that some bugs still need to be patched for example the voices only playing through left ear or somepeople are experincing low FPS in menu's or in-game with higher than the minimum spec requiremnt and honestly its not the best port.

-This game almost forces you to pay, Although you can do everything in the game without paying everything can be achieved almost instantly if your bank account is big enough. People spend thousands of dollars in this game and then clean the floor with you in PvP and act like it wasnt the money they spent on a very nice weapon that let them beat you.

-The labor system. Labor is required to do almost every task from cutting a tree down to crafting your armor. The max amount of labor is 5000 which is way to small and unless you have a patron account (membership) you only regenrate 10 per 5 minutes while logged in, if you have patron it isnt as bad as you regen 10 online and 10 offline but with a max of around 2,800 labor a day you can easily find yourself running out of labor.

-Trion publishes this game. Since this game is korean trion has nothing to do with the update of this games and they just publish it. This means many bugs are in the game and trion cant do anything about it. Some of the ONLY dungeons (explain later) in the game have massive bugs which let you glitch past all the bosses making them easy to complete.

-The PvE content in this game is lacking where only very few dungeons exist in the game and very little open world PvE gives loot or useful loot.

All that aside this game is great
Pros:
-The graphics for this game can be amazing and it looks amazing

-Naval combat in this game is really something cool. Archeage requires alot of ocean stuff to get the full extstent of the game. This means that there will always be someone out on the sea. This makes taking cargo across the sea a risk and at any momment you could be jumped by pirates. If you prefere the more PvP side of things its easy to sail the sails and looks for people with a merchants ship or other ship and board or sink there ship in hopes of taking their packs. To make the added risk you still have to take these [acks back to a trader, making for some really intense naval combat.

-Community is a big part of this game. A solo player can only get so far and most things require a raid of 3 or up to 50 people meaning that you need to find yourself a guild or hope to get into a existing raid.

What was once a great game is now just a daily quest filled cash grab. Probably wouldnt recommend anymore

The game is really good but it does have its downsides

Pros:
-The game has a really nice art style
-The single player follows the storyline
-There is a whole range of characters to play from
-The combat is really fun

♥♥♥♥:
-The multiplayer was a huge let down, lan or offline games are fine and have no problems but as soon as you play online you start to get connection issues with everyone and during a game it comes up transmitting, there is also delay sometimes between what button you pressed and the character doing it
-This one isnt a major issue but since the game isnt english when the characters speak in dubbed its over the wrong mouth actions and sometimes the dubbed finishes speaking but the character will continue to move there mouth for awhile after


I Would recommend this game to anyone who enjoyd the game series or the show

All i can say about this game is why does it cost money and why did i buy it?

This is not the type of game i normally play but after reading the reviews i thought i would try it for myself.
The game looks really nice and has a cool style and the plot is really engaging at times but at other times i felt rather bored when i had to listen to 4 mins of speech more than once.
I also found the game to be quite short finishing the storyline in 1.8 hours, for NZ$6 i felt like i was ripped off alittle.

Other than that would recommend!

Great game, Endless fun and force feeding people a banana up there butt. What more do you need?
