When you look at a profile's "...hours past two weeks" you are subconsciously aware that it is a measurement of time, so your mind is swayed to view the element as some type of clock or stopwatch. So when the element is preceded by a large number, you instinctively know it's somehow "wrong," but you might misinterpret WHY it is wrong.

This is because the Hours Played element is neither a clock nor a stopwatch, it is (in grotesquely over-simplified terms) nothing more than a digital abacus. It sees "5 hours of Warhammer" and "2 hours of My Little Futa" and displays "7 hours played." It does not care or even register whether those events occurred consecutively or simultaneously, only that they did occur. Likewise, 2 hours from five different games is 10 hours played... or "300 hours from thirty games..."

That's it, that's the entire 'trick,' if you even consider it as such. There is no "magic," no "3rd-party boosting app," no "changing PC clock," no "hacking," no "fiddling Gabe's sphincter under the table," nothing.

I hope this satiates your curiosity for the courteous few, and for the others I hope it soothes your irrational anger at the meaningless number that you specifically came searching to find.

Hopefully seeing such ridiculous things encourages you to tinker and discover safe & harmless elements you can affect for your own amusement, or even simply just have a giggle at other people who do.
