My biggest issue with the game is that there is little reason to build large, carefully designed factories, other than for your own satisfaction. The goals for phases and milestones are low enough that a quick and dirty factory will allow you to reach the next goal in just a few hours, whereas the extra time invested in an intricate factory doesn't typically pay off, since it will spend most of its time idling while you build the next factory (unless you're going for the golden nut trophy, in which case the factories can continuously sink the products for points).

There is also a big lack of options for configuring trains, and they're incredibly dumb considering the level of technology in the world. I mean, really? There's supercomputers, advanced AI, autonomous drones, etc, but trains are still reliant on signals? Not even an upgrade later on to allow trains to communicate with each other to optimize traffic?

Despite these gripes and several smaller ones, the game is beautiful, the exploration is fun, and it scratches the itch that factory building games are meant to. Overall, it lives up to its name.
