The new out-of-game UI in Hunt Showdown 1896 is atrocious. I love this game and have played it for 1,700 hours but this is SO bad, imagine the worst aspects of mobile and console UI but also it's an incomprehensible labyrinth.

I just want to buy a couple of guns and get in the game but it takes 3,000 mouse clicks to do anything and every button is enormous like it's a TV streaming service. Awful.

I will change my review if they fix this.

This really is an entire SMT game with touhous. It's incredible.

The most difficult part of any of the puzzles is figuring out where each portal goes and memorizing that. Same for remembering what state each colored block is in so I know which direction it's going to go when I click on it.

Since there is no penalty for getting the wrong portal or forgetting if you already clicked on a block or not beyond hitting the "undo" button I could say that the game should just mark the portals to indicate which one sends you where and indicate on the moving block which direction it's going to go if you click on it to save you from doing this rote memorization.

But then there wouldn't be any puzzle at all, and that's why i recommend against it

the characters are entertaining and i didnt play it long enough to be able to speak to the gameplay but it is, as expected, drenched in revolting gacha sewage so it belongs in the trash

What a fantastic game, It blends the best parts of Tony Hawk movement with blasting people and it works amazing. You have very low ammo count and get ammo by doing tricks, so shooting bad guys while upside down in midair ends up feeling like a part of the string of trick moves. To get a good score you have to continuously kill enemies, taking too long or taking too much damage between frags will end your 25 kill streak and tank your score.

This comes off as super stylish. Sure, you could carefully go do a big flip+grab to fully restock your ammo before making a safe attack run on each enemy but it's fun to try to pull off outrageous stunts that keep the kills coming in quickly one after another and keep your score combo going up.

If you like what you see in the gameplay videos in terms of visual style and music you should get it as the player movement, enemy and level design all come together to make something special.

Fantastic visual style, it's short right now but what there is was really neat and well put together, no placeholder bits or shoddy work.

Here's hoping there's more to come!

Dead or School is a fantastic video game with a charming story.

It kind of looks like a porno game in the steam storefront but it's a big, full game that kicks ass. I hope this developer makes more games! :)
